A new Bible-based character education program is coming to Boerne ISD this fall. LifeWise Academy will offer off-campus religious instruction during the school day for students with parent permission. The famous Victory or Death letter sent by William Barrett Travis got a special tribute yesterday here in Kendall County, making us the 39th County to do so. In the ceremony was the Presentation of Colors by the Kendall County Honor Guard, “Texas, Our Texas” was sung and led by Kendall County Constable Brian Vaughn, and Errol Flannery, the 4th great grandson of Davy Crockett, read Colonel Travis’ letter. There is now a dedicated plaque with the letter in front of the old courthouse and jail museum. This event and plaque only happened thanks to the hard work of the Kendall County Historical Commission and the Alamo Letter Society.
