It’s Tuesday, August 12th. 

It was on this date in 1960 that the Beatles' drummer Tommy Moore quit the band. They were coming off a tour as the “Silver Beetles” when Moore lost his two front teeth in an accident they had in the bands van…Moore also said he’d had enough of Lennon…and went back to his job as a forklift driver.   Tommy Moore was replaced by Pete Best.

Boerne ISD has surpassed the 11,000 student mark, and growth is expected to continue. In fact, the school population in 10 years might even be greater than the Boerne population was 10 years ago.  At the Boerne ISD Convocation on Friday they spelled out their purposeful path to the future…and goals to meet by 2028…which includes student success, elevating talent, fiscal responsibility, and engagement by building a culture of trust…but let’s focus on today …we caught Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft right after she walked off the stage ready to get to work…

Boerne ISD is now accepting applications for free and reduced-price school meals for the 2025-26 school year.  Applications are available at the BISD Administration Building at 235 Johns Road, or by contacting Child Nutrition Liaison Vlada Buck at 830-357-2166. Eligibility is based on household income or participation in certain assistance programs. Boerne ISD is an equal-opportunity provider.
