Johnny Carson was born on this day in 1925. The Tonight Show host was an icon of late night television from 1962 to 1992, but got his start on the radio in 1950. He was instrumental in starting the careers of many famous comedians, including Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Jerry Seinfeld. He had a hand in launching other show hosts like Drew Carrey, Jay Leno and David Letterman.

A San Antonio man who turned police chases into social media stunts has been convicted in Kendall County. 19-year-old Timothy Vitaliy Fogel pleaded guilty to multiple felonies after investigators linked his Instagram account, “@slow530i,” to a series of high-speed evasions and reckless driving incidents in Boerne and Kendall County. Videos showed Fogel’s black BMW taunting officers and topping 140 miles per hour. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, probated for six, and must wear a GPS ankle monitor, pay fines, and apologize to law enforcement and his parents.
And just a reminder the burn ban is still on in Kendall County. Yesterday, crews worked to put out a grass fire in the 200 block of 3351, and although it was contained quickly it spread very fast. Please remember: NO outdoor burning of debris, leaves, branches or brush is permitted until the ban is lifted.
So before you head into San Antonio this Saturday to see Megan Kelly at the Majestic or Paul McCartney at the Alamodome that morning a very exciting conversation is happening at the Spring Creek Methodist Church on Dietz Elkhorn in Fair Oaks Ranch…The Texas A&M Forestry Service is hosting a workshop on how to identify Oak Wilt. Coffee and pastries will be provided. RSVP to HOA@FORHA.org. How’s that for a slow news day.
And some Boerne Radio Birthdays - Dwight Yoakam turns 68 and Weird Al Yankovic is 65…- Cindy Katz of Boerne celebrating today, and your Boerne City Councilman in District 4 Bret Bunker…Happy Birthday.
Programming note, Boerne Radio will air the Boerne Greyhounds road game tonight as they face Veterans Memorial - pregame starts at 6:30 with a 7:00 kickoff.
