It’s Thursday November 13th.
And some big Boerne Birthdays today - Happy Birthday to my friend Keith Blaies of PPO Health Insurance - he’s one of our Boost Boerne Business VIPs, also to Joey Boatright he used to run the Dog and Pony Grill, and Jeff Thornburgh a great Boerne Radio listener and I know that because he took the Boerne Radio Music Survey at boerneradio.com.
It was also on this date in 1955, Rosa Parks refused to move from her seat at the front of a bus in protest of segregation in the South. Within a year the U.S. Supreme Court finally ruled that segregation on interstate buses is unconstitutional.
I’m Baron Wiley.
A lot of traffic in the news, so stand by Dusty Rhodes…
The real big news is by 5 on Monday morning, two new flyover ramps will open at Loop 1604 & Iā10. So if you’re heading to Sea World or Seguin it’ll be smoother and safer.
For those around Fair Oaks Ranch, you may have noticed that the traffic signal coming off I-10 on both sides to Fair Oaks Parkway has been in-operational. Temporary lights are set up, as late last week a developer damaged the signal control, causing the lights to stop working. There have already been a few accidents there, so do be aware.
And what’s happening traffic wise in Boerne? This is where we check in with our award-winning Traffic Director Dusty Rhodes…what’s happening Dusty?

But Dusty we’re still in a drought it’s not raining!
Thanks Dusty, and congrats on being the Boerne Radio Employee of the Month.
A lot of progress has been made on Northside Community Park since its groundbreaking. Currently contractors are wrapping up the roadway cut and preparing to excavate the southwest detention pond next week. Fill material will soon arrive to support the courts and roadway construction, and tree pruning along the roadway and trail is underway with help from City of Boerne Arborist Ryan Bass. We’ll keep you updated as progress continues.
And tonight is the second Thursday of the month, so the Boerne Bookshop is hosting the Hill Country Poets Open Mic night. The time to rhyme will be from 6 to 8 so don’t be late, the Boerne Bookshop is in the Mister Richter building - should be thrilling and fulfilling.
Programming alert at 6:30 tonight is the pre-game show for your Champion Chargers who head south face the Southwest Dragons. Kickoff is at 7 right here on Boerne Radio.
Boerne Radio News is delivered to you by the Boerne Star.
