Boerne Radio News - Thursday, January 23, 2025

View descriptionShare

It’s Thursday, January 23rd.

And it was on this date in 1986 that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted its first members: Little Richard, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley.

The City of Boerne experienced a telephone outage yesterday, including all city phone lines at City Hall, Boerne Utilities, Parks and Rec, the Library and Animal Care Services. The one city line that did NOT fail was the 911 emergency line as well as the non-emergency line. If the telephone lines continue to be spotty today, the quickest way to reach a department is to either visit their offices during business hours or to email them.  And we have a link to the full list in the news blog at boerneradio.com

The City of Fair Oaks is starting a Roadway Maintenance Project beginning today. The City has partnered with M12 enterprise to repaint roadway center stripes, stop bars, and crosswalks and install raised pavement markers. The work will take place in various parts of the city, specifically where streets were resurfaced last year. There are no expected traffic delays, and there will be no road closures at this time.

And congratulations to the new Boerne ISD Communications Director…Dr. Maggie Callahan Dominguez. Before joining BISD, Dr. Dominguez worked in development and communications for the University of Michigan Health Systems beginning in 2020. She has over 15 years of experience, and we look forward to celebrating more great things from our schools and students here in Boerne ISD.
