Boerne Radio News - September 20, 2024

View descriptionShare

It’s Friday September 20th.

And it was on this date in 1977 a piece of pop culture was introduced, and it wasn’t a good thing. Ron Howard and Henry Winkler starred in the Happy Days episode where The Fonz jumps the shark.   Jumping the Shark is now a metaphor for passing your peak…it’s time to let go…but they didn’t go.  Happy Days stayed on the air for another seven years.

Last night at the Boerne Radio Boost Business Event at the Hampton Inn saw 4 non-profits benefit from Boerne Business Leaders and Owners on the Day of the Big Give - it was nice for the Big Give folks to represent and share our event with their Facebook fans…and the giving back continues - a dear friend of Boerne Radio’s, the Boerne Business community and Navy Veteran Jacques R. DuBose will be repelling straight down the 20 story Thompson Building - 342 feet to be precise - and doing it for a good cause.

Our friends over in Fair Oaks Ranch will be doing a lot of trash talk next week, and not about us over here in Boerne. The City is transitioning to a new trash and recycling provider called Frontier Waste Solutions, which means brand new bins. If you are a resident within Fair Oaks Ranch, you will need to set up an account with the company either by phone or online.

Tomorrow morning the Black Rifle Coffee Company will be hosting Coffee with a Cop from 10 to noon. Enjoy conversations with Boerne’s best, ask questions and enjoy some coffee.
