Born on this day in 1912 was the phenomenal Chuck Jones, who helped animate, create and direct the Looney Tunes bunch. In his lifetime, Chuck Jones made over 300 films, was nominated for 9 academy awards and was given a Lifetime Achievement Oscars in 1996. He had a hand in creating some of your favorite characters, from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to super genius Wile. E Coyote and the Roadrunner. He also directed one of the Wiley’s favorite Christmas specials, Dr. Suess’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

The Kendall County Fair Association is calling a Special Membership Meeting that is open to the public tomorrow night in the New Hall at the Fairgrounds.  This is on the heels after former Queens Court members and community supporters demanded changes in leadership, accountability and reforms to the pageant program. And while are welcome to attend, voting is only open to KCFA members who joined 30 days ago.   The meeting starts at 7pm.

A local freight carrier and Amazon Delivery Service Partner is laying off hundreds of people in the greater San Antonio area after their contract with Amazon ended. Boerne-based 4XH Logistics LLC is laying off 230 local workers between November 6th and November 19th after deciding to completely shut down without a renewal. The company began in 2019, but recently filed a WARN notice with the Texas Workforce Commission-the notice essentially gives the commission an advance warning when larger employers are going to undergo a mass layoff. 

The Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center announced that they raised $60,000 at their gala last Tuesday. Every dollar that was raised will go directly towards client care, and by hitting their goal, they received an additional $60,000 match to make their impact go further. 

Tomorrow morning, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country hosts its annual Nonprofit Summit at The Bevy Hotel.  The full-day event brings nonprofit leaders together for networking, professional development and community collaboration.
