It’s Wednesday May 7th. 

It was on this day in 1945 that Germany signed an unconditional surrender at Allied headquarters in France, ending its role in World War II.  It was also on this day in 1975 when President Gerald Ford formally declared an end to the “Vietnam era.”  And if you don’t want to start a new war...don’t forget this Sunday is Mother’s day. 

The City of Fair Oaks Ranch has received a request from a property owner to bring a 345-acre parcel into the City’s boundaries to develop the Post Oak Subdivision.  The land is just north of Ammann Road and is within the city ETJ.  If approved the land will consist of 1 acre lots for single family homes.  The efforts here are to replace a previous plan for high-density development.  An open house will be held next Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Fair Oaks Ranch City Hall, and all residents are encouraged to attend.  https://fairoaksranchtx.org/709/Post-Oak-Development 

Memorial Day is coming up on Monday the 26th and the VFW Post 688 is looking for volunteers to help place American Flags at Veterans grave sites in the Boerne Cemetery.  If that’s you, contact Comrade David Spoor with the VFW when you call 210-862-0426.  The placement of the flags Ceremony will be on Friday the 23rd at 5pm.  The official Memorial Day Ceremony will happen on that Monday morning at 11…and then at 5pm the flags will be collected from the graves.  All the events will meet at the Cemetery Flagpole on School Street and all are welcome.

Post Malone and Jelly Roll are playing at the Alamodome tonight…Shakira will be there in June,  on May 24th Randy Rogers will be in Luckenbach, on May 30th I’ll be heading up to Austin to see some 80s nostalgia:  Simple Minds with Soft Cell and Modern English opening up.
