When you go fishing at Boerne Lake or in Cibolo Creek, you probably aren’t expecting your bait to catch a turtle. Recently, Firefighter Rogers from the Boerne Fire Department came across a hard-shelled friend with a hook in it’s mouth, so he secured it with care until Officer Smith from Animal Control arrived. The two worked together to remove the hook and return the animal to it’s natural home. 

The athletics department from Boerne Middle School North got a taste of combat yesterday as they had a special workout with some officers from the Hill Country Regional SWAT. Operators Sergeant Patton, Corporal Chavez, and Officer Fuentes teamed up with the 8th graders and lead a session focused on teamwork, communication, and pushing through challenges together. The kids flipped tires, ran laps and competed to complete a common goal. 

K-9 Chico was layed to rest this morning at 1910 Church. The Officer was killed in the line of duty on April 10th after being hit by a vehicle during a routine stop. The Police department honored the pup with a memorial service, and in lieu of flowers, asks the public to make donations to the Boerne Police Foundation in K-9 Chico’s honor.
