It’s Friday May 30th.

And it was on this date that the Lincoln Memorial was dedicated in Washington DC in 1922. President William Taft presided in the dedication as he was the President of the Lincoln Memorial Commission, and Robert Todd Lincoln - Abraham’s only surviving son at 78 years old was in attendance 103 years ago today.  

Earlier this week the Kendall County Commissioner’s Court approved funding for the Bergheim Pilot Proposal, which will be a 4-month program to ensure consistent and reliable fire protection in the area. Boerne, as well as other communities in the County, provided statements to the court in support of stronger fire protection. The goal is to improve and expand coverage through the 2026 fiscal year and beyond. 

Congratulations are in order for the Cibolo Center For Conservation-the Farmers Market at Herff Farm was recently named the Farmer’s Market of the Year at the 2025 Gardopia Gardens Award Gala…beating out all those losers down south in San Antonio.  Don’t worry, they can’t hear us.

Starting on Monday, the Gateway to the Hill Country starts in Fair Oaks Ranch. The shoulders near Fair Oaks Parkway and Leslie Pfeiffer will be closed as construction begins on the new Gateway Feature, which will greet everyone who enters the community.
