Officer Magness and K9 Buddy
Headlines: JFK Born On This Date in 1917 / DAR Awards Four HS Seniors / Charity Fegenbush Serves 10 Years At Animal Control / FOR’s K9 Buddy Retires / Support HCFS In Our Boerne Radio-Thon!
It’s Thursday May 29th.
It was on this date in 1917 that the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was born. He was the youngest President to ever be elected at the age of 43….and set America on track to visit the moon, as well as advocate for Civil Rights Bills and navigated his era of the Cold War. Of course we know that three years into his Presidency he was assassinated in Dallas, and 6 years later his vision became true when we landed on the moon.
The Wednesday Edition of The Boerne Star reported that the Kendall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have honored four recent graduates as DAR Good citizens. Boerne High School’s Hailey Grace Muir got first place and 1500 dollars, while Comfort’s Paulina Dorado, Champion’s Noah Hernandez and Geneva’s Ella Dillinger received 1,250. These awards are given to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship, and recognizes those who possess qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities.
Congratulations to Animal Control Director Charity Fegenbush for receiving the 10-year service award from the Kendall County Commissioner’s Court. Over the past decade she has cared for hundreds of animals and helped them find forever homes.
The Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department said goodbye to an old friend as K9 Buddy retired after serving on the force for 7 years. Over his time, Buddy took part in 134 deployments, 85 seizure incidents and 77 arrests. His handler, Officer Magness, assures us that Buddy will spend the rest of his years playing, relaxing and eating healthy treats. K9 Vox has joined the squad to replace Buddy. He is calm, confident, and has already started his work with Officer Magness as his handler. Welcome to the team Vox! Go get ‘em Boy…
