It’s Monday May 26th.

And in case you blew it a couple of weeks ago, today is Mother’s Day in Poland...and it’s also Independence Day in Georgia.  That would be the Georgia that’s part of the Russian Empire since 18 hundred until 1918.  But back here in America it’s Memorial Day - where we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country…which started after the Civil War as Decoration Day back in 1868. 

Few high school graduates can say they had two ceremonies, but we do things big here in Boerne. The Boerne High School Graduation ceremony was postponed halfway through the event due to lightning protocol, so they came back on Friday morning…Champion Seniors graduated that Friday night…Congratulations to all of the graduates, no matter how many ceremonies you had. 

The Boerne Municipal pool officially opens tomorrow for the first splash of the season! The hours this year will be open 1 to 6 Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 7 on the weekends.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office wants to inform you of what’s called the Gypsy Paver Scam here in Boerne. These losers show up offering to pave driveways or perform other asphalt work at a “discounted” rate using quote “leftover materials.” They may pressure you into quick decisions, do substandard work, and then demand more money than originally agreed upon. If any of these scammers attempt to take advantage of you, please contact the Sheriff’s office with as much detail as possible when you call 830-249-9721.
