It’s Tuesday May 13th.

Famous birthdays today include Stevie Wonder who is 75, Former Spur Dennis Rodman is 64, and Ritchie Valens was born on this date in 1941..

This week is National Police Week, where honor and gratitude is given to the brave men and women who serve and protect.  Tomorrow morning you’re invited to participate in a special memorial service to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.  All agencies will be represented including the Boerne Police Department, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Fair Oaks Ranch Police, Constables, Game Wardens, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. The service will begin at 10am and will be held in the Sheriff’s Office Courtyard.

Here’s a news story about a news story…Boerne gets on the map again - this time KSAT 12 comes to town to shine a light on that ginormous cinnamon roll at the Richter Bakhaus and in the Cork and Keg.  The Richter Boerne showcase happens on their SA Live program that airs every day at 10am - you’ll be able to find the story on demand at ksat.com/sa-live.

Over the weekend Boerne ISD Athletic Director Stan Leech was inducted into the Texas Highschool Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Coach Leech has been on the Boerne ISD team for the last 39 years- 26 of those spent as Director. He won 833 games over his incredible 32-year coaching career, including 12 district championships and 27 playoff appearances, as well as created an atmosphere of belonging and teamwork. Congratulations Coach Leech on this well-deserved honor.

Well, I guess Spring is over…Central Texas is under a Heat Advisor officially this afternoon to tomorrow night where some places may see 110 degrees - Seguin will see 103,  Pleasanton a not so pleasant 104, Uvalde may get to 107…so we’ll count our blessings of 99.

Maybe a good day to get an ice cream treat for the kids and with a quick look at Boerne Traffic we throw it to the award-winning traffic reporter Dusty Rhodes - Dusty what’s happening out there now?

Audio: Dusty Rhodes - Reports from the Road

Thanks Dusty!
