Some Boerne Radio artist birthdays include Kenny Chesney who is 57,  Diana Ross turns 81,and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is 77. Also born on this date is comedy legend and personal favorite of mine - Martin Short, he is 75. 

There is only one day left to vote for Mr. Robert Kolar as America’s favorite teacher and he is currently in 2nd Place!  In his years at Champion High School Mr. Kolar has taught English I, English I Honors, English II Honors, Independent Study Mentorship, Academic Decathlon, Student Leadership,, and AP Research.  Last year he was selected as the Champion HS and BISD Teacher of the year.  Mr. Kolar spent eight years in the US Army and twelve years in Law Enforcement before becoming a teacher…so he has my vote.  .again he’s in 2nd place, if he pulls ahead to first, he will win $25,000, a trip to Hawaii and a feature in Reader’s Digest. Last night in the Boerne City Council Meeting it was announced that after 21 years of service Claudia Lemon will retire in May.  Claudia is widely regarded across the state as a foremost subject matter expert in her years as a court administrator. When other cities have questions about new laws, they call Claudia. She holds the highest-level certifications available to a Court Professional and has processed 1000’s of misdemeanor cases - and has done so with respect, empathy, with a call to excellence.  Congratulation Claudia Lemon.

For the 37th year in a row the City of Boerne has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada.  Recognition was given for their work on the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the 2023 fiscal year that ended in September. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
