And it was on this date in 1958, that a 23 year old Elvis Presley was sworn in as a Private where he would earn $78 per month for two years…taking a $100,000 pay cut. He was offered to serve in the Special Services to entertain the troops but he turned it down. 

If you watched the State of the Union, and saw President Trump make 13 year old DJ Daniel’s dream come true when he was made an honorary member of the US Secret service as he continues to fight brain cancer, on Saturday morning DJ Daniels was in Boerne getting a bigger honor when was sworn in as an Officer with the Boerne Police Department with Mr. Bill Goldberg on hand.  Boerne PD is actually the 913th agency to swear him in.

Congratulations to Champion’s own Emma Barrazza, who is the back-to-back State Champion at the UIL Youth Film Festival. In 2024, she knocked the judge’s socks off with her film “Lost and Found” and swept the competition again this year with her traditional animation “Baked with Love”. She also earned a spot in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event AKA VASE state competition in April, where she will compete against her peers for another title.
