Headlines: It’s Pi Day at Tootie Pie ($3.14 slices) / Boerne Concert Band Free Concert This Sunday / Red Flag Fire Warning Continues / Fair Oaks Updates Drought Plan / Spinal Tap II Coming Sept 12th / Von Erich Ranch Grape Gathering Tomorrow
It’s Friday March 14th!
And it’s Pie Day - 314 equals Pi, and that means all pie slices under the glass at Tootie Pie are $3.14 – see you at Tootie Pie …and hey for St. Patrick’s Day pick up the Sham Rock Irish Cream Pie, The Irish Whiskey Cheesecake, or the Whisky Pecan Pie.
Hey if you listen to Boerne Radio then that means you appreciate great music…so in our quest to encourage music appreciation this Sunday you should attend A Night To Remember - it’s a free concert in the Boerne High School Auditorium presented by the Boerne Concert Band. I’ve seen the playlist, and it features music from Pirates of the Caribbean, Lawrence of Arabia, and American Fiddle Tune Variations. The artists performing are from all over the Texas Hill Country - and two great things…A Night To Remember is happening during day…so be there when it starts at 3pm…and the other great thing, the concert is free! So, see you at Boerne High at 3 on Sunday, and you can learn more at boerneconcertband.com.
With our continuing Red Flag Warning for Fires through the Hill Country, if you see a fire, report it, but don’t call while you’re driving! There was a roadside fire yesterday being worked on by the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department just outside of Comfort on I-10, and a distracted driver accidentally rear-ended a DPS Trooper. No injuries were reported, but a simple reminder to stay focused on the road, and not rear-end a DPS Trooper.
The City of Fair Oaks is updating their Drought Contingency Plan effective April 1st in order to better align with it’s drought strategies. The City is working with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and Trinity Glen Rose Groundwater Conservation District. These updates ensure a more proactive and flexible approach to managing water resources during periods of drought, helping to prevent severe shortages while still allowing for essential water use.
Hey Spinal Tap Fans…Spinal Tap II will be released on September 12th - and will not only see the return of David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls - but more drummers who will die, Artie Fufkin played by Paul Shaffer, and Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John will also make the cut of the new mockumentary.
