Rabies Warning Expands Beyond Boerne
That rabid rocky the raccoon at Boerne City Lake wasn’t an isolated case — Comal County officials say a feral cat has now tested positive for rabies, marking the 12th confirmed case there this year. The state health department is stepping in, recommending the county begin trapping feral cats to help stop the spread of the virus. Keep an eye on your pets — and don't feed the wildlife.
Boerne ISD Proposes Teacher Pay Raise
Boerne ISD is looking to boost first-year teacher salaries to $60,000 — that’s a $5,000 increase — if voters approve the move this November. The district says it's close to a balanced budget and wants to stay competitive in recruiting top talent. That effort seems to be paying off: Boerne ISD just earned its fourth straight “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency.
Rare Bible Returns to Boerne Library
A piece of history is back home in Boerne. The Patrick Heath Public Library has welcomed the return of a 400-year-old Low German Bible, recently restored and digitized by the University of North Texas. The rare treasure is now on display for all to see — and serves as a reminder that even ancient words can come back to life.
And according to the Bible…the Word is alive…
