The Boerne Middle School North Principal Daniel Owens resigned yesterday following his arrest last week. He was charged with his second offense of driving-while-intoxicated and for unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was placed on administrative leave Monday, and his departure from the district was announced by Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft yesterday afternoon. Dr. John O'Hare, Boerne ISD chief administrative officer, will guide the search for Owen's successor. And as social media can be a cesspool, on the Boerne Star Facebook page you’ll find the majority of post were those of grace and support.
And for those of you who can’t sing but still love to perform, the Hill Country Poets are hosting the Poetry Open Mic at the Boerne Bookshop. Whether you want to step on stage or listen from the audience, this free event offers great art and good vibes to everyone involved. The open mic will go from 6 to 8.
