Headlines: Happy 4th of July/ List of Boerne fireworks show/Texas Parks and Wildlife department restocked Boerne Lake with fish/ list of Boerne Businesses CLOSED today/ Steak night social 4/10

It’s Friday July 4th.

It’s Independence Day - America’s 249th Birthday… and while at one time the sun never set on the British Empire, today 65 countries around the world have claimed their own Independence from Britain…although after a bloody American Revolution  we are still grateful for their British Invasion with the Beatles, The Who, and the Rolling Stones…and I’ll personally I’m grateful for their greatest exports Stan Laurel, Charlie Chaplin and Monty Python.

So where can you go to enjoy the Boerne firework show tonight? There will be free parking at Boerne City Park and Champion High School. The Kendall County Fairgrounds will also have parking available by donation, but it must be cash. another good place to watch the city show is from Living Hope Church - they’ll have bounce houses, shaved ice, popcorns and a great view…and also at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church has the Boerne Village Band, free hot dogs, drinks, and ice cream cups…thanks to the Knights of Columbus.

One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish,

Black fish, Blue fish, Old fish, New fish.  Thank you Dr. Suess…are you ready to fish!  A couple of days ago, the Texas Parks and Wildlife department restocked Boerne Lake just for you with a fresh variety of fish of all different colors and sizes. They were relocated from nearby natural state areas to their new home here in Boerne.  And of course there’s a catch…make sure you have a fishing license.

And starting on Monday, Fair Oaks Ranch will begin Fog Seal and Rejuvenation work on select roads in their city. Pimlico Lane, Turf Paradise, Dapper Dan and Clydesdale Circle are the first roads to be affected, with new roads treated each day. Residents can expect work to be done from 8:30 to 3:30 one side of the road at a time. Parked cars must be removed from the sites before work is done, sprinklers must be off 2 to 3 days after treatment and sweeping will occur the day after. If you’d like a full schedule, you can visit the link on the Boerne Radio news blog.

Boerne Radio would real quick like to honor the Boerne Businesses CLOSED today for the 4th of July besides the banks and the Chamber of Commerce…I’m talking about Cavender Chevrolet of Boerne, Bumdoodler’s, Bella Sera Italian Restaurant, Bear Moon Bakery, and Tootie Pie….God bless your business and God Bless America.
