Headlines:  Music On The 4th with R.E.K., Willie, & Dylan / Boerne’s Drinking Water Quality Report / Planning & Zoning Meeting Re: Buc-ee’s /

It was on this day in 1776 that the Continental Congress voted to adopt the resolution of Independence.  Thomas Jefferson was then selected to compose the original draft that was edited...and then 2 days later it was adopted by Congress.

So what are you doing for the 4th yourself?  We mentioned the celebrating during the day with the parade and picnic in Comfort, the fireworks shows in Boerne City Park, and Fair Oaks Country Club - but if you headed a little further north Robert Earl Keen is playing at Kerrville’s Fourth on the River, and if you head a little North East Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks will be at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin.  On the bill besides Willie, is Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep at the Wheel, and Tami Neilson… and as easy as it is to say, this could be the last time you get a chance to see Dylan and Willie…well, they can’t die, they are already booked for next year.

Boerne Utilities has published their Drinking Water Quality Report for the year of 2024- and once again our drinking water meets or exceeds all federal drinking water requirements. If you have an opinion on our water, there will be a Public Participation Opportunity on Wednesday August 27th in the City Council Chambers.   We have a link to that report in the news blog at BoerneRadio.com  Boerne-tx.gov/WaterQuality

And there’s another public hearing next Monday at City Hall hosted by the Boerne Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss the rezoning around the Buc-ee’s who just bought more land to make a bigger parking lot…and also in this public hearing they will review the Special Use Permit for the proposed Goodwill Store on North Main.  That meeting starts at 6:00 on July 7th.
