And Happy Birthday to Ruth Buzzi who turns 88 today - the former Laugh In Comedy Legend today lives on a 600-acre cattle and horse ranch near Stephenville, Texas. She was the only player on Laugh In to appear in every single episode, and received five Emmy nominations in her career. 

Excessive rain yesterday meant flash flood warnings around the area, especially for our neighbors in Kerr County. With intense rainfall at 2 to 4 inches per hour, rising water levels caused the Guadelupe to flood. The National Weather service reported last night that the river reached a record 7.3 feet in Kerrville and was expected to reach almost 10. 

The School year officially begins August 12th, but there are some important dates students will need to be aware of in order to start off the year strong. All Elementary Schools will be holding their Meet The Teacher night on Thursday August 8th. Parent and Family orientation varies by school, so you will need to check your specific school's calendar. Voss and Boerne Middle South will be holding their Prep Days on Friday August 9th, while Boerne Middle North’s student orientation will be on the 7th. And both Boerne High and Champion will be holding their prep camps tomorrow, but their prep days will be the 7th and 8th. 

Do you have any dinner plans for Thursday? If not, the Boerne Police Department is collaborating with Boerne Blaze for their annual fundraiser. The nonprofit works with special kiddos who want to enhance their social skills and athletic abilities through sports and community. The fundraiser will be held at Texas Roadhouse on I-10 from 5 to 7 pm.
