It’s Friday October 31st. 

And it’s Halloween. Or All Hallows’ Eve - Eve to All Saint’s Day which has a bunch of other names = the Feast of All Saints, Feast of All Hallows, and Hallowmas…a day to remember the dead, including saints, martyrs, and all the faithfully departed…a tradition that goes back centuries, and today, Halloween is the second largest commercial holiday next to Christmas.  Last year 11.6 billion was spent, this year the projection is 13.1 billion dollars.

There was a brief parade yesterday that passed near City Hall yesterday morning, but it was not the kind with floats. 60 Pre-K through 5th graders from St. Helena’s School had a trick-or-treat stroll through the Patrick Heath Public Library but made their way across Main Street in full costume. The Boerne Police Department helped them cross the street, and the City Hall Departments welcomed them with smiles and sweets. 

The Boerne Parks and Recreation department is doing some maintenance at Ammie’s Playground  in the City Park so it will be closed.  Ammie’s Playground is a great gift to our town as it’s an all accessible playground for kids at any stage and any need….the playground will reopen soon. 

Today is the absolute last day for early voting…Election Day is next Tuesday November 4th…polls will be open from 7 to 7…lots of places to vote and you can vote at any one.  We have a link to all the polling places in the news blog at boerneradio.com - https://www.co.kendall.tx.us/262/Current-Election-Information
