It's Friday November 14th.

It was on this date in 1969 that Apollo 12 launched in pursuit of the moon. Their mission got off to a rocky start, as they were struck by lightning twice within the first minute of launching. It was the 2nd trip to the moon with Commander Charles “Pete” Conrad Jr. who was the 3rd man to ever walk the moon’s surface, followed by #4, Alan Bean…and Richard Gordon.

And here are today’s Boerne Birthdays…ladies first - happy birthday Nancy Holekamp, and Kelli Yount - and to Mr. Brian Coyle!  Have a great day!

The Boerne Police Department has a new honorary sergeant in their ranks- Chief Perez swore in Fabra Elementary student Braiden Jiencke on Wednesday.  He will now serve as Officer Shelton’s official backup as SRO officer. Congratulations Sergeant Braiden - Fabra just got stronger.

The Boerne Chamber Pickleball Tournament took place this week, congrats to La Calabria Pizzeria who took first for the advanced tournament, and Alchemy Massage Studio took first for the beginner competition. 

Although the Government shut down is over and SNAP benefits will be coming back, Guy Sanders of the Richter Tavern, the Richter Cork and Keg and Richter Bakhaus  isn’t done blessing local families.

No matter what, the Richter will be providing warm meals to those on SNAP through Thanksgiving. During normal business hours, you can come with your SNAP card and immediate family to enjoy a meal on the house. Thank you again to Guy and Joi Sanders for their generosity this holiday season.
