And a few Boerne Radio Musicians and Legends were born on this date. Peter Tork of the Monkees in 1942. Another Peter famous for Shocking the Monkey - Peter Gabriel born in 1950 - he turns 75 today.  Tennessee Ernie Ford was born in 1919. And American legend Chuck Yeager who was the first person to break the sound barrier as a test pilot was born 102 years ago today.

This Saturday Waste Management AKA WM will make the final collections of old recycling bins or pick up new bins that residents don’t want. Over 6,800 bins have been delivered in the past month, and only 15 have been picked up so far. If you need your bin picked up, please contact Boerne Utilities by the end of the business day. You can either email them at customersvc@boerne-tx.gov or call them at 830-249-9511. 

As spring cleaning season is around the corner, and you’re thinking about replacing your old pillows, or maybe you have a closet full of pillows that haven’t been used in years, we have an idea for you.  You can donate them to the Hill Country Animal League.  They use them for the animals in the kennels after their surgeries.  Hill Country Animal League provides low-cost spade and neutering, and they are located on North Main right next door to Fritze’s BarBQ…and don’t forget about their Thrift Store on Bandera Road next to Sonic.

And in music news, the nominees for the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class were announced yesterday morning. 14 potential inductees will be voted on by a panel of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals. Are you ready for this? The Class of 2025 includes Boerne Radio artists that you go may go…alright… Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, and Soundgarden, and then a few more where you may say…okay?  Oasis, Bad Company, Cyndi Lauper and The White Stripes, and then the rest are…really?  Joy Division and New Order, Mana, Outkast, and Mariah Carey.  Rock and Roll!
