It’s Friday April 26th.
It was on this date in 1923 that Cleto Rodriquez was born in San Marcos, Texas. He was the first Mexican American G.I. to win the Medal of Honor in the South Pacific during World War 2. Another Texan also earned the Medal of Honor on this date in 1968 when Private First-Class Milton Lee overran enemy positions and provided cover fire for his platoon during the Vietnam War. He died that day and rests in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
