It’s Friday - April 25th
And it was on this date in 1898 that the US Congress officially declared war against Spain as Cuba had been fighting for its independence. The war would end in December with the Treaty of Paris in which Spain renounced all claims to Cuba, and gave Guam and Puerto Rico to the US, plus sovereignty over the Philippines for 20 million dollars…that 20 million today can get you a 55 acre ranch out Highway 46.
The Boerne Independent School District does it again…earning its fourth consecutive "A" rating from the Texas Education Agency.
Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft was quick to give the credit away saying the achievement is a “team effort” on her staff’s behalf. Craft said. “Our district is always striving to do more for our students, and being able to share this outcome is so important. She added - quote “We are fortunate to have the greatest teachers for the greatest students.”
