The Boerne Star’s Kerry Barboza broke the news that the Geneva School of Boerne has selected Bob Rosenstiel as it’s new head football coach. Rosenstiel played in the NFL and XFL and has been at Geneva for the past three seasons where he was an assistant coach. Rosenstiel also coaches track for the Eagles.

In case you haven’t heard, the bird is not the word, rabies is the word with a couple of positive tested racoons in Kendall County.  One in Comfort near Old 9 Road, and the other here in Boerne off of West Fabra Oaks Road.   Some advice from Kendall County includes making sure your outdoor pets have their rabies vaccinations, secure those trash cans, and if you see a raccoon acting funky report it.  You can call the Kendall County Animal Control at 830-537-3430.

How’s this for time flies, one week from today it will be May 1st - and 2025 will be 33% done.  And ON May 1st - which is the 1st Thursday of the Month is the National Day of Prayer…and does this country need prayer.  And predictably Boerne leads the way.  It starts next Thursday morning in the Cana Ballroom at Saint Peter The Apostle Catholic Church for the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast - get your tickets at boerneprays.org - and then at noon is the City Event in the Main Plaza under the Gazebo - as different city leaders pray for different departments - County Commissioner Andra Wisian will read the Governors Proclamation, Judge Stolarczyk will pray for our courts, JP David Neighbor will pray for our Military, Shariff Auxier will pray for our First Responders, and others will pray over our families, our youth, our businesses, the arts, and several Boerne Pastors will cover the rest…again learn more at boerneprays.org.
