It’s Thursday April 17th. 

And born on this day in 1937 was Daffy Duck, who made his first appearance in Porky’s Duck Hunt. In the original episode, Daffy had a less pronounced lisp than what we know today, and looked a lot more like an actual duck. Mel Blanc voiced the character until 1989, a total of 52 years. 

Cibolo Conservancy Land Trust has officially changed its name to the Heart of Texas Conservancy to represent its expanding reach and the deep emotional and ecological value of preserving Texas. According to Executive Director Ben Eldredge, he says  “Our new name captures both the geography we serve and the passion that drives our mission.” The public is also invited to a Heart of Texas Conservancy celebration event on Earth Day next Tuesday from 5 to 7, will be at the Lost Oak Cellars on Rosewood just a stone’s throw from our Boerne Radio... Hill Country Family Services has their April Wishlist ready for the Corner Cupboard, and as Easter is approaching fast, it might be time to help those in need. Currently they are looking for peanut butter, canned peaches, cereal, jam, canned mixed fruit, dish soap and canned spinach. If you are feeling the call to give this holiday, you can drop off your donations at their location on Advogt Street.
