And it was on this date in 1786 that a volunteer from Tennessee was born.  He was a member of the US House of Representatives, and an American Frontiersman.  And he died in the Cradle of Texas Liberty.  Of course, we’re talking about Davy Crockett...born 236 years ago today.

Last night the Boerne City Council voted to call a $36 million Quality of Life Bond to be decided by voters on Election Day - November 8th. 

Proposition A covers Streets and Mobility and totals $23 million. - it’s funding for improvements to city roads and traffic signals.

Proposition B covers Parks and Open Space and totals $13 million. it provides funding for City of Boerne’s parks, trails, and open spaces.

According to the press release, The City of Boerne will host several online and in-person opportunities leading up to the election for you to learn more about the potential projects.

Early voting begins October 24th. 

The Boerne Independent School District has announced that Boerne resident Rick Goodrich has been named Chief of Safety and Security, which oversees the department and the 12 School Resource Officers. 

 22 years of law enforcement investigative experience with the DEA

22 years of distinguished military service with the United States Air Force. 

Goodrich also managed Special Agents assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and San Antonio Police Department Narcotics Unit. 

Goodrich has a 9/11 story too - he responded to the call at the World Trade Center that day.
