And it was on this day in 1956 when the phrase "In God We Trust" is adopted as the official U.S. motto. It was first used on coins in 1864 and began appearing on paper money almost 100 years later in 1957.

The Kendall County Office of Emergency Management held their press conference yesterday afternoon to discuss the next steps in the flood recovery process, and here are some of the highlights. Flood cleanup officially begins today and will last up to 10 weeks-operating 7 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm. Cleanup will begin in the West most zone of Kendall County and will slowly move East over the coming weeks, so expect traffic delays and detours in the zones being worked on. For property owners-if you can safely move debris to the edge of your property, the removal team will pick up debris free of charge. The debris must be separated into the following categories- electronics, large appliances, hazardous waste, vegetative debris, and construction debris. If you have any questions, you can call the debris removal hotline at 830-217-28-90. 

For our Fair Oaks Folks, Fog Seal operations continue. Today through tomorrow the city will be working on Equestrian Drive, meaning the northbound traffic will be rerouted. There will be signage to navigate your morning and evening commutes, but if you can, avoid the area to prevent delays to your day.
