Republican Candidate for Maryland State Delegate District 4, Jason Keckler joined Bob Miller and Chris Michaels during the Morning News Express to talk about why he decided to run and why he would make an excellent delegate to represent his district in Annapolis.

The Morning News Express is your weekday wake-up call from 6–9am, led by the one and only Morning Mayor, Bob Miller. You know the voice. The laugh. The stories. The legend. It’s the reason Frederick gets up and gets informed.

Bob’s been the king of morning talk in Frederick for 30+ years, holding down the WFMD fort for 27 of them. A proud Frederick County native, his roots run deep—son of the legendary local vet Doc Miller, raised on a 180-acre beef farm, and yes, he really did show cattle across the country. (Moo included.)

His resume is impressive, his humor even better. Senior class president and class clown at Walkersville High (Class of 1980), Bob also helped launch the school’s first-ever football team—the gritty “Mean 19.”

Off the mic, Bob’s a proud husband to Lynda (30+ years strong), a dad to Erin and Bryan, and a super-proud granddad to little Kaelyn.

Bob’s known radio was his calling forever, with stops at major stations in Baltimore and D.C. But Frederick is home, and every morning he brings his voice, wit, and community-first perspective to Free Talk 930 WFMD. He’s joined by great local guests all week to cover what’s happening in and around Frederick County, plus national reporters from Fox News Radio to break down what’s happening across the country.

As Bob’s mom says: “At least now I can finally turn him off.”

🎙️ ICYMI: Dan Cox Joins the Morning News Express Following Maryland’s Gubernatorial Debate

Bob Miller welcomed Dan Cox, Republican candidate for governor of Maryland, to the Morning News Express following Tuesday night’s gubernatorial debate with Democratic incumbent Gov. Wes Moore.

The candidates clashed over several major issues facing Maryland, including the state’s projected budget deficit, taxes, affordability, immigration, data centers and the FBI headquarters project. Cox argued Marylanders are “paying more, but getting less” and said he would not raise taxes, while Moore defended his administration’s record and pointed to federal policies as a factor in the financial pressures facing working families.

One of the notable exchanges came when Moore was asked whether he would commit to serving all four years of a second term if reelected. Moore spoke about his commitment to Maryland and the work his administration has done across the state but did not directly answer yes or no.

Cox addressed that moment Wednesday morning with Bob.

🗣️ “Why would you vote for somebody, who has looked in the camera and won’t promise to serve?” Cox said.

🎙️ Hear Dan Cox’s reaction to the debate, his criticism of Moore’s response and his thoughts on some of the major issues facing Maryland voters.
