Jack Felton is seeking an at-large seat on the Frederick County Council, bringing decades of professional experience with the United States Postal Service to his campaign.
Felton is a retired postmaster who served communities including Walkersville, Mount Airy and Jefferson. According to his candidate biography, he retired in 2021 after a 37-year career with the Postal Service.
Now, Felton says he wants to put that experience to work in local government, representing residents throughout Frederick County.
His campaign is focused on several key issues, including property taxes, preserving farmland, public education, affordability and managing the county's continued growth.
Felton has also called for a more cautious approach to data center development, saying the county should have a safe plan in place before approving projects that could require significant amounts of electricity.
On housing, taxes and development, Felton's campaign emphasizes fiscal responsibility and a slower pace of growth. He has also outlined positions on small-business regulations and county government policies.
Felton is one of the Republican candidates seeking an at-large seat in the November 3rd, 2026, general election. At-large council members represent the county as a whole rather than a single council district.
