Happy Weekend! Eddie shares how things are going with his mom visiting Nashville, as well as the latest happenings with his kids. Morgan and Eddie discuss the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, if they would live in foreign countries, and each of their ancestries. Then, Morgan had funny situations that happened with her hair stylist, and with a grocery store worker.
The Best Bits of the Week with Morgan Part one Behind the scene with a member of the show.
What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Best Bits.
It's going to be an interesting one this weekend. Eddie and I are in our new studio.
How beautiful is this?
It's so beautiful.
But also there's people working on stuff. So if you guys hear crazy noises and like actual.
Construction happening, that's what we got to work with.
Yeah, this is what's happening part of it. Yeah, that's what we're doing. So Eddie, how are you? Thanks you for coming on.
I'm good. Thanks Morgan.
Well, we did have some cool segments this week, Eddie, you were in a few of them. Your catchphrase debate, your punishment for your kids?
Maybe yeah, Slash and I still have homework for the catchphrase debate, Like, I don't know why they're trying to get me to come up with a new catchphrase. Want to clearly already have a catchphrase.
I think you have one. I think that Let's go one is what.
It is like every single time I play again, Let's go like it's part of it.
I just don't know if you can like classify it as a catchphrase because it is technically just a phrase that a.
Lot of people use.
But isn't that what a catchphrase is? Like people say like mount up. Okay, that's your catchphrase, but anyone has said mount up.
That's probably true. I feel like it's just the identifier of who's saying it. So that's right, right, you're right, it's yours.
That's what I'm give it to you.
Okay, because I mean the stuff I'm coming up with it is weird. Oh boy, Like what do I say? Like, let's go Dad's you know what I mean?
Daddy time?
Daddy time? I don't like that. I don't like that one.
Okay, Well you are in the That'sments Part two, Part today.
There's also a draft.
Bobby made a statement on why he turned some people coming onto the show down. Also, Ammy got locked inside her house Monny, Yeah, that was hilarious. Bobby also surprised a listener who was super stressed when she called in. So some good stuff over there. If you want to catch up on the show, now, Eddie, time to get to you.
Give me an update. How's life? How are you? How's dad life? I'm fixing my microphone.
You're good? Life is chaotic. I mean it's always chaotic. But my mom's in town, so which is awesome because like my dad died. If people don't know, my dad passed away in August and my brother had a stroke. Family kind of just got thrown for just a crazy, crazy, crazy loop. But we're coming back around. My mom has moved in kind of by my sister now in Texas. She's i mean less than a mile away. So really, my mom just stays with my sister. Look, she has her own place, but she's never there. She just likes to stay with my sister. And my sister had to go back to work and she's like, Hey, do you want to like hang out in mom for a little bit. So I said, Mom, come like come to Nashville. We'll keep it busy. We got four boys, we got practices, we have games, like, we have a lot of stuff that we do. So she's like, all right, I'll come down for a few weeks. So she is. She's been here for about a week and she's having fun. Like we keep her busy. We watch a lot of football, we watch a lot of TV. I took her to Brooks and Done last night.
So much fun.
She had a blast.
Did she get to meet Ronnie?
And she did? She did?
How did that go?
Oh my gosh. She's just funny because she, uh, she's just like shy. She's a shy person. Yeah, and you know, I mean she's she loves Brooks and she loves country music. And when she saw them, she was like, Oh my gosh, I could just hear. Mom went, oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, that's them. That's them. Yeah, Mom, that's them.
They Also, it's kind of funny when you see people that you really love in person for like the first time, like genuinely meeting them, You're like, oh wow, that's a that's a real human being.
I kind of thought they were fictional, right.
But what's funny too, though, is like, you know they still dress and look like Brooks and Dune from the nineties. You Know, Ronnie's got his sunglasses on, his hairs all like pushed up a little bit, kicks, has got the cowboy hat and the boots, and like they really didn't change other than they just got older. And so my mom is just like, they look good.
So when Ronnie asked if she was high, she was like, yes, yeah.
My wife was laughing because she when I told her we're going to Brooks and Down, She's like, well, I got to get my hair done, Like I gotta go get my hair cut. So my wife booked her an appointment. She went to the mall, she had to shop and it was really cute.
I love that this happened like this a concert happened when she was here, so you were able to give her something really excited to look forward to.
Well, you know too, like how many times do we get offers like go to the show and you probably take advantage of it all the time. I hadn't been downtown to a concert in like seven years.
Seriously long, seriously wait, So you just saw like the whole transformed Broadway for the first time.
Yeah, sirens, twenty four to seven, people screaming like people wasted, thousands of people on it in.
The Friday that then, Broadway's really cool. It's a really cool spot where we're at.
What do all those people do for a living where they can like just go out on a Thursday night.
It's it's me. You're looking at somebody who goes out on the Thursday night.
So do you go and like go hard and then just show up on Friday morning and act.
Yeah, how do you do that? You gotta live life. You can't live for the weekends, dude, I'd be so stressed out. God, you also have fours a lot difference.
That's true. That is true.
I don't have any kids, so it's a different experience.
It's just crazy. I looked around, like, man, you guys are going hard and it's Thursday.
Also, that's a cool concert. They got in for free.
They got to see Brooks and Done for free on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee.
And they didn't just play it like a few songs. I really thought like, oh, we're gonna go. They're gonna play like five six songs and call it at night. They played a full on show.
Mm hmmm, the whole set, a whole.
Set, as if we had paid full price for a ticket to watch Brooks and Dun play. Yeah, it was awesome.
I'm so glad though, that she was here for that. It got to is there part of her now knowing that she had that experience where like I could I could move to Nashville. No, I could live here?
No, No, I don't think so. Like it's funny because she loves being around us and around her grandkids and all that, but you can tell at times she just wants to kind of go to a quiet place, oh and watch TV for a little bit. Fair because our house is a lot. It's a lot, Morgan, every single minute of the day. It's yelling and screaming and like knocking stuff over and wrestling and you know, laughing. It's just loud. It's loud twenty four to seven. They're not mad at each other ever, really, like sometimes they have fights, but they're just they're just boys, and like they mess with each other. They kick each other, they punch each other, they wrestle each other, they steal each other's stuff, and they start chasing each other around the house. Like that's what it is twenty four to seven.
And she's like, I'm not in that phase of my life anywy.
So she's kind of like, this is cute. I love visiting my grandkids and my family, but I'm ready to go.
But what if, like she had her own place here, do you think she would then, like be close to you.
Guys, I think she'd rather be close to my sister. Okay, honestly, because they're tight, like her and my sister. Because it's me, it's my older brother, it's me and my little sister. And so I think, like they just they're the two girls of the family.
Yeah.
So they just had a best friend.
They had a bond from the very beginning, and they're close, and I think she'd rather just be down there with her, But she loves being here. Yeah, but I think after a while she's like, I'm ready to go. Okay.
Well, and also, I mean she's been in Texas pretty much her whole life.
Whole life.
I mean that's familiar.
I was in Texas my whole life until we moved here, which is crazy. Were you in Kansas your whole life?
Yeah?
Oh yeah. I mean you don't have a plan really to move. You think you're going to live in your home state or by your parents, Yeah, because that's what everybody does.
Isn't it crazy?
Uh huh?
Like there was there was like two years once we moved to Nashville, where I was just I can't believe I live in Tennessee, Like I can't believe it. I'd look around be like I can't believe I live here.
But now you look at You're like, I couldn't live anywhere else.
This is my home. Yeah, that's home.
That's kind of how I feel where I'm like, I really I picture other opportunities of like, Okay, I could live here, I could live there. I think I could get used to that. But then I'm like, well, I like have a life here. Yeah, And once you've like a stout, it's a community and a base somewhere. It's really hard to think of somewhere else of moving to, but people do it all the time.
Where would you move to? Like, where would be your ideal other than Kansas, other than your home state? Where would you like to like live just because it sounds.
Cool in the mountains?
Where?
Anywhere?
Like Montana? Colorado?
I love Colorado. I mean I grew up going to Colorado because it's right next to Kansas. That was like our kind of it is.
Yes, Eddie, how is Colorado next to Kansas?
Are you for real?
And I thought, hold on, I have to look at a map. Are you serious? It's right next to each other.
Yes, it's on like if you're looking at a map, it's on the left side of the state.
Holy crap, I thought Colorado. Hold on, I'm still looking. I thought Colorado was.
I really thought I was the one that's bad a geography. I wish were playing easy trivia.
Right now, there's Kansas. Look at that. See I thought Kansas was a little where Missouri is. That's where I thought Kansas was.
Oh okay, and you like flip flop the two Yeah.
That's so literally two year left when you look at the map is Colorado. Yeah, so you guys would drive to just like all the time. Could you drive to like the like like Aspen and oh yeah, those those resorts or whatever.
I want to say, Denver, well, if it wasn't snowing, and like, honestly, some of the most horrible trafficking experiences we got caught in multiple snowstorms really on the highway of like West Kansas and Colorado.
But yeah, it's like an eight hour drive depending on where you're at.
And like Denver, yeah, oh Denver, Yeah.
And Denver is close to a lot of them.
That's awesome.
So that's where we'd always go.
Do you go to Colorado Springs?
I've been to Colorado Springs once.
That seems kind of close.
You know, where I really want to go in Colorado that have never been. It's like the Black Gunnison. It's like this huge, like really pretty national park and it looks.
Insane black Gunnessan.
I haven't been that deep into Colorado yet.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
I think that might be an official name in Yeah, okay, okay, you see pictures of it?
Yeah, wow, that's pretty right, that's really pretty. Yeah, I do see. Like, you know, you went to where's that place that you went to where all the red rocks.
Look like a oh, are you talking about the bad Lands?
Yeah?
Is that what you did?
Well? We did bad Lands and Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. Jackson Hole will be my favorite place ever.
There was some picture where you on your Instagram where you were hiking and it was like all the rocks were all red and it looked like just a smooth pattern of red rocks.
I think that might have been Utah freaking awesome. Utah is also awesome.
Honestly, everywhere in the West is really cool. As far as landscape, I agree, it's hard to beat that.
Have you been to Lake Tahoe?
No, I want to. So that's where you guys went.
We went, but we were just there for like a couple hours, just to do an interview. But when we got there, it's so beautiful that immediately I was like, write this down. We're coming back. Really, it's so pretty.
Were you guys at the actual like Lake Tahoe or just is it the city of Lake Tahoe?
No, we were. We were actually at the lake. It's called We're South Lake Tahoe, I think, got it, which is on the Nevada.
Side, okay, because it goes into whatever however you say it, because it goes into California, right, yeah.
And Utah massive. I think it's kind of like all around those states. It's cool but beautiful. It just looks like a movie scene, you know, like if you see a movie and it's in the mountains with big old pine trees, like that's what I look like.
That would be fun. I feel like Lake Tahoe is also a boogie place.
But I feel here's the thing though, I feel like you're a social person and being in the mountains is kind of why do we come?
I was talking about lake.
I know, but I was thinking about you going to the mountains, and I'm picturing you living in.
The mountains well, because I feel like you wouldn't.
Be happy there. I feel like you would be happy looking out a few days and then being like, how do you get back to my friends, my girls?
You know, I don't know.
There's something about there's a different person that comes out when I'm in the mountains, like I'm.
Just so happy and so serene, very content. I don't know. It could be.
I've never lived in app like that type of place long enough to know for sure. And I am a very social person, but I'm also a very like active person. I really want to be out hiking and snowboarding and doing things, and that's really hard to do.
Well. I guess you could live in like Colorado where there are a lot of people and there is skiing.
You get a mix of both.
Yeah, it's like you can live in Denver and do that.
Yeah, Denver is like the Dinver.
If I would live anywhere else, like right now you were like, hey, you have to move, I would just move to Denver.
Knowing I've been there. I love it. It's amazing.
Even in the weather. It's cold all the time. Yeah, and I guess it's not cold all the time, but I mean it's cold.
Something you should know about me. I hate like summer clothes.
You do, Yeah, you hate summer?
I know.
I said, clothes very different.
I don't know if we could be friends.
I know I love like a good day of like great weather. Yeah, I love that.
But I love fall and winter clothes, like the sweaters and the coziness in being able to be like all bundled up. I love that so much more than like being in a bikini.
On the beach. I get that. Sure, being covered up is a lot more comfortable than be exposed. I get that.
Sorry, this is how I am, so I think that's where some of that comes from too, where I'm like, I just don't mind the cold weather because I can just bundle up.
But always yeah, I mean I grew up in Kansas.
We had four seasons all the time. I'm not used to it here like the warm Mother all the time. I'm like, give me fall and then we get like one day of it and it's winter.
See that's me man. I grew up where Christmas it was eighty five degrees.
Your warm mother day. You would live.
If somebody planted you somewhere, it would be Hawaii, Hawaii, Like there's no time.
I mean, Hawaii is expensive and unrealistic, like because it's but if I had all the money in the world, and I can live anywhere. I don't want to live in the US, like, because there are beautiful islands all over the world, but I'd like to live in America. Like there's something about living in America that's very comforting to me, and I like, and I want to live in America.
You would never live overseas.
No, No, I've been to other countries and it's it scares me really, yeah, because it's just not it's not our government, it's not our rules.
It's not our eddie. That might be a good thing, No, but you know, like you grew.
Up knowing what you can and cannot do. You're in another country and you're like, oh, I can't walk around with his beer like or or you know, it's it's just, yeah, you're unfamiliar. Territory is unfamiliar. And then different languages very like what do you mean by that? Like, I don't know how to interpretate what you're saying. But in America, I feel very comfortable. So the most beautiful beach, beautiful landscape to me is Hawaii.
You know what I find really ironic about that. Actually, we're gonna take a quick break, okay, and then I'm going to tell you what I find about this. Okay, this is what I find ironic, Eddie, is that your whole family, like your ancestors as that came from Mexico and did what you're saying you.
Could never do go to another country.
Yes, and like how this whole language barrier and all of these different experiences.
What's even crazier is like you ever done a DNA test? Yeah, Like, okay, so so my DNA test, Like, think of a country, think of a race, think of a culture, think of whatever. I'm int Like, it's all. When I got my sheep back, it was covered, like from Spain to everywhere around the world.
Was there any in there that you were like, oh, that one's weird. I didn't see that one coming.
Yeah.
Do you remember, oh you're Jewish?
Yeah, I'm like one percent Jewish. I have like African in me, like my mom my Mom's came back four percent uh North African.
Wow, does she remember anybody that she?
No?
I mean, because that would have to be pretty direct in her family to have such a strong percentage.
I think, so yeah, crazy wow. So I mean, I'm telling you, Morgan, when I came back, we were everything. So you start thinking yeah, and sos right, like what did they do? I mean, we must have gone everywhere fearless, like I am moving to Canada, I am moving to Nova Scotia, like just I don't know Nova Scotia. I have no idea.
I was trying to think, that's a random one you could come up with.
I know, I was just trying to think of anything, Czechoslovakia, whatever. But literally we had a piece of everywhere around the world. My wife came back basic white chick, like this is crap. It was like one color you came from here. Oh my goodness, like Norway, Europe done, that's it.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure my well, I'm majorly German and that makes sense with my last name.
My last name is.
Very Morgan Kills.
And then I think another one was like maybe it was Swedish. I don't know. It was interesting, but I had multiple so, you know, not total basic.
But when European when you were a baby, was your hair like white?
Oh?
Yeah, I have blue eyes. I was like, like, beach beach blonde hair.
You should go. Have you ever been back like to like Sweden or oh.
I would love to hear Germany, although speaking of I would go live there.
Germany.
No, really, back it up. I would live in a foreign country.
But Germany is cool. Like Germany's different. Yeah, I don't know, it's got a bad rat, but it's it's different. Like my brother's been there like five times. He loves it.
Belgium, Germany, Okay, I want to go to Belgium.
No, no, No, Belgium is a difference. Sorry, I think rememb Berlin.
Well, I was stressing you. My geography sucks.
Belgium is another country in that area, but it's another country.
Okay, I would go to Belgium so close enough to Germany, I would go to Germany. Also, I wouldn't live there, I don't think, though, I don't know. I just also I'm not like super there's something tied to German though that I'm not super proud of that astas street like you know what I mean.
So I'm not want to go and claim it.
I get it. But you had nothing to do with that. No, But but I get it, you know.
So it's not like I'm like, Okay, yeah, I'm gonna go really sticking these roots here.
But I think there's something to going back to, like where you came from, where your ancestors came from. Like if I went back to Spain, which I've never been back to Spain, so cause like Garcia's Spanish, my mom's side was more Native American, but in the Mexican area, like down South America, Central America, South and so like, so part of me is like motherland Spanish, Spain. And then when I go to Mexico, like there, when you see people that look just like you everywhere, it's kind of like cool. Yeah, they'd be like, wow, this is where we came from. Like everyone here looks like me, Like that's cool. And if you went to Sweden or Germany and you saw everyone around there looks like Morgan, like that's pretty cool.
You're telling me they're all blonde, blue eyes.
Probably not now because you know it's like but you know majority, I would say, majority is going to look like you.
Yeah, that's crazy.
He's pretty crazy.
Which if you if you were to go back, like right now, would you try and go visit Spain or Mexico Spain?
Because I've been to Mexico lots.
I was gonna say, I feel like you guys did go to Mexico growing up all the time, because you still had family.
There well, so like we have my my parents have cousins and aunts and uncles that still live in Mexico. But all my relatives were all Americans. So like my grandparents on both sides were all American. I think my grandmother on my dad's side was the only person born in Mexico. So after seeing yeah, so like my grandfather on my on my dad's side American, both my grandparents on my mom's side American. But everyone has kind of been around South Texas area for a long, long long time.
Okay, so really you're South Texan.
If you go down there, everyone looks like me, that's your people.
That's why. Well this is none of this was in my No, I loved it.
That's how we do it.
I like when ours go off the rails and we just go in a different direction. So I just let it be what it is.
But I also wanted to just like talk about life and see how you were and I'm glad you're talking about your ancestry.
And chaotic lish.
Yes, yes, very much.
So you know, did you watch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show?
No, it came back for the first time in like five years.
Wait, what's that on no, I don't know.
I was on Amazon. Really no, it was all over my social media.
So here into this, and here's the deal. If I were to just turn that on in my house, like my wife had been like, I was curious, what are you doing? But and she wouldn't watch it. So really, there is no way that that would be playing in my house. Maybe my sixteen year old ye four boys, then we'd be like, bro, turn that off.
Stop you would allow the boys to watch.
It The Victoria's Secret.
It's a show, fashion show.
No, because they would just be like, yo, bro, yeah, bro, look at that.
I'm telling you. Since it's coming back, like now, they're gonna be watching it. One of these years, you're gonna come in and they're gonna be watching It's gonna be a thing.
So it's interesting. What is it like?
Just to have you ever watched it?
I've seen clips of it where people walk on the runway. They got like the wings, wings and stuff I like, But that was years ago, long, long time ago.
Well, so this is the first year back in four or five years they had like stopped doing I think COVID and a mix of things. But this was like the first year back and yeah, they always have wings. Wings are like the known thing for because it's Victoria's Secret Angels.
But that's not part of the set that you're looking at, right, No, it's on the model I mean that you're buying.
Yeah.
No, well you could buy wings.
You could Victoria's Secret Wings.
They had them for a long time when you could buy them in store.
I don't know that they still do that, but yeah you can, and they were super expensive, but I always wanted them. There's one year I dressed up as Halling as a Victoria's Secret Angel.
Why would not in the okay launder rite, I get that, though, you should totally do that.
Well, no, I was in high school, watch it, sure I should.
What like, why would you buy the wings other than like just wear them, like for your boyfriend or husband? Like right, like you're not You're never gonna wear the wings for like a real reason.
Listen, there's something about girlhood where we just love to feel pretty and beautiful.
And sometimes you.
Guys are always pretty and beautiful. I know, but always thank you, Eddie, I appreciate it. I'm serious like always. I know sometimes you all don't feel like you are, but you are to us, like to men. You guys are always pretty and beautiful, oh like always, even when you're validating I'm dead serious when you're not even like you know, makeup, just you're in a T shirt like I just woke up, tears all like, you guys are beautiful, oh period. So don't ever think that you're not.
You know, Eddio, it makes me really happy that you're raising boys.
Thank you, Like a person like you is raising boys, Oh thank you, because then at least the next dating class, I know it's going to be good.
Well you know what. I think about that all the time. I try because I'm like, I don't want to I don't want to raise like jerks.
You're raising good ones.
Too many of those out.
There there are.
So that's why I say, like, I'm really proud somebody like you is, and thank you for validating me and all of the women out there.
I appreciate it.
You're walking, but that's we just like like fun things and fun things like that sometimes make us feel really just.
Different and beautiful and exotic in whatever.
So I could totally see a woman walking in and just be like, I just want to wear the wings one time.
Just wearing the wings.
Yeah, but that's also like girlhood where we can yeah, you know, we do have the luxury for women of like we can just go and do it.
And you guys don't make fun of each other for it, like, guys, what are you wearing? Like what what do you mean mean? Girls like that.
There's girls out there that make fun of other girls, but in the mass majority, you know, Okay, most of the time, we're like supporting each other and be like, yeah, girl, go do it.
Yeah, exactly do your thing.
Yeah, but you are right guys, like if.
You wanted to go buy some wings, can you imagine lunchwalk? What do you doing? What do you do? You look?
What is that?
Look? Stupid? Take it off? What are you doing? I remember wear a hat one time and he was just like stupid off, I was like, what's a hat?
He also makes fun of everything and everyone sure, sure, So you know, maybe don't have those kind of friends.
So when a good point when you watch the show, though, like are you shopping or are you just kind of like what are you looking at? Because dudes are looking at the girls. Yeah, she saw.
I was watching it for the pop culture aspect of just figuring out what was happening. So I knew in regards to be able to converse with other people about it or talk about on the show or whatever. But also because like memes come from such big pop culture things, so I tend to watch just big events like that just to.
Be abay with what's going on.
So I wasn't shopping for it, but I was also just watching like performances and seeing the difference in the years and stuff. So I wasn't like, I really don't shop at Victoria's Secret anymore. Honestly, It's been a long time since I've shoped there.
It's kind of a lot of options now, whereas before that was kind of the option.
It was the only option, like even just have like braa and underwear, Yeah, that was the only place to go. But now there's everything.
It was so awkward, like when I'd go like in there to shop for my wife, you know, cause like at a time in my life where it was like, ooh, you know she she does like lingerie, like let me go buy or something like a dude by himself going into Victoria's Secret is just one awkward, and two I feel like everybody working there is like watch him, why is he here?
What's his agenda today exactly. We do listen, We do have each other's backs in those scenarios.
Two.
So okay, we're gonna take one more quick break and we'll be right back.
All right, I'm gonna like just run through some random, like live things and if you have anything that you want to throw in here too, please do you got it? Because I don't want to keep pelting you about like your life in personal life, because I think I love that you share, but also I want this to be a space where you can talk about other things, yeah, and focus on other stuff too. So there was this funny situation that happened to me. I was a I got my hair done. My hairstylace we always talk about.
Okay, it went into the night.
And like five hours long.
They are really long, They're like three hours long.
Well, why did we talk about this?
Because you guys are like, why do you go to Sabrina carbon I's like, I had a hair appointment and you guys are like, why did you do your hair?
I'm like, guys, it's we didn't understand how you could not go to a concert because you're getting your hair done.
Yeah, because it's like a three hour appointment. It's also like a whole thing. Yeah, and then you're like, I don't want to go to a concert after that.
And we're all married, so we understand that. But for some reason, it just didn't click that you wouldn't go to a concert because you were getting your hair done. It sounded like, hey, you want to go on a date. No, I'm washing my hair, can't do it. That's what it sounded like.
Great, Like I love watching you guys when I respond to so like organically in my life and you guys are like, what that doesn't even make any sense.
You're none like at night? Weird?
Yes?
I did.
Anyways, anyway, at the hairstylist, and we always talk about dating and our relationships.
I've been going to her for a couple of years.
You and your hairstylist.
Yeah, she's awesome.
But it was funny because she was talking about this guy she was seeing, and I'm always like, okay, show me a picture, let's go through the whole thing.
This time she told me Pigture.
I was like, oh, I went on a few dates of then No, yeah, that's awkward.
Did you tell her?
Oh?
Yeah, this is normal in Nashville.
Also, because, like a lot of my friends, we would send back like, hey, have you gone on a date with this guy?
Because we're trying to make sure we're not crossing lines.
Is this normal because I heard a few years back that the ratio was three to one.
Oh, I'm sure it's like eight to one.
Now, like for girls, for every one guy there are eight girls.
Oh yeah, there's so many women in Nashville, so the guy pool is like tiny. Yeah, and it's trash, so really that's just great. It's like you know when they pull trash out of the oceans.
Yes, they never ending a bunch of trash out there.
I'm just kidding. I'm totally kidding kind.
Of And you're the dolphin choking on it, like literally.
Totally all jokes. Anyways, I was like, yeah, I totally went on a date. And she was like okay, well, like give me the lowdown. I was like, actually, he's a nice guy. I just don't think he was like ready for a relationship. We only went on like three dates.
What made you think that.
Oh, he made a comment he was like, you own your own house.
I was like, yes, Like he was shocked by that.
Yeah, And it was like and it was like the independency of me threatened him. Yeah, sure, I get that, And so I was like, I just think he might have been like a little immature. And this was we went out like six years ago, so the.
That's a long time ago.
Yeah.
So I was like, he's probably a lot different person now. You should totally go out with him. He was great.
Besides that, she went out with him. Same problem was he was like, he was like, you own your own house to her?
Too crazy, I think. Ever, Yeah, he asked me he was surprised that I owned my own house.
Yeah, not exact scenario, but like was very like very much wanted somebody who was like not super independent, wanted you know, a pretty true, maybe more traditional roles type style.
I do think that there are certain kind of guys that want to be dependent on yeah, you know, like that's kind of their identity. I'm a provider, Like I'm the one that makes I'm the one that like this is my stuff, you can live with me, you can like I will support you. Yeah, And there's this personality of people like that. And I don't know it's not me, but.
But like what these guys are on a stand is like you could be needed and supported in so many other ways than just yes.
And how awesome would it be like for you and your wife to like be independent and have their own goals and you're working at something, I'm working at something. We both have a ton of money because we're both successful. Like I feel like that's awesome.
Yeah, that's what you call a power couple.
But some people just don't don't like it. They want to be I'm in charge.
They see it one way so interesting, Well six years later didn't.
But that's that's funny.
That was the most girlhood moment I've had recently where it was just like, yes, I dated them, here's my thing, but still go out of them.
She did report a bag and it was still the same.
Do you not think, though, like when that comes up, that it's possible that they're just like, oh gosh, like you dated this guy, Like this is not good.
No, I mean unless you like really really dated him, like you know what I mean.
Like then I'm like, Okay, this is weird, but no, Like if I just went on casual dates of them, have at it because they're looking everybody's looking for somebody, right, and I'm not going to step in the way just because I went on a few dates with them, You know that doesn't that's fine and.
Good for you for remembering him, Like that was six years ago.
That one I did remember. There's some I don't sure.
How many dates do you think you've been on since you even moved to Nashville?
Oh god, Eddie, I don't know so many. I literally couldn't put a number on it. But like that's also a lot of just first dates.
And then you know, ever again, so.
Who knows. We're not going to sit there in that for very long.
At What would you do in this situation as at the grocery store, Oh no.
The pineapple, some of the pineapple in your shopping car garb.
That'd be funny if it did, that'd be great show prep. I was giddy.
I was checking out about blueberries, and you know the blueberries come in the cool little curtain.
Yeah, the little plastic plastic. Yeah.
So the blueberries get put in my bag, and the blueberries open everywhere and they're all over the back and.
The sweet classic bag or you take your own bag.
I take my own bags. Try and save the environment.
You know, the sweet little old lady that was bagging my groceries, then proceeded.
To pick up everything with her hands and put them back in the curtain. Oh yeah, do you just like take the blueberries and like still.
You know them?
Do you just like count your losses?
Well, that is strange that she did that.
Well, and I know she's trying to be kind because blueberries smashed and it's a whole thing.
Was this like right past the belt like like you already checked it. I already went through the little scan and then she was bagging it. Yes, okay, dang, I would just go get another one. Like if I were her, you know, I would have just been like, oh, I'm sorry, like go get you another one and we'll just trade it out. Yeah, but she picked them all up and put them in there floor.
No, they were just on the bag, like all the bag on the table. It's kind of like everywhere.
I mean, I'm not a German foe. And I washed all my fruit and vegetables. Yeah, like and I wash it just rinsome like I was say, which is that's what that's what you call wash?
And like really, well you're dang supposed to like vinegar and baking.
Do that literally run it through some water and is watched. I would probably just take it and not say anything a roll with it. But it's very strange that she did that. What did you do?
That's what I did with it. I was a little taken aback that I wasn't really I didn't have anything to say or do.
It's very strange.
And she was just like a kind old lady and she's being really sweet to pick up literally every single blueberry.
Because some blueberries are really small.
Really. I was standing there for a while and I was like, this is bad. But I just took them, took them home. I washed them all up and there in the fridge.
Isn't it funny? Like I feel like the last few times I got to the grocery store, the check the whoever's checking me out is like eighteen years old.
Yeah.
And then always like the baggers or sometimes the older.
People, yes, the older people that are like just still working, working their butts off. Yeah.
And I think some of them tend to like be retired and then they go back and just find a job because they're bored.
That's why I told my mom, like, because my mom she doesn't work whatever, and she's like, I'm just kind of bored. Like go get a job, like, go do something. I told her, like you can go to a nursery and like just be in charge of watering the plants.
She could do that because she's like I don't know how to.
Do computers, Like I don't know. She's just like been out of it for so long. Yeah, she was a nurse when she was younger, but she just she would stay at home.
Also totally go do volunteer stuff. Totally, Like if she was a nurse, she could go volunteer to cuddle.
Babies in the Nike You.
Yes, that's amazing.
That's one that people do.
That's that's huge too because when we adopted, when we were fret her parents, part of our baby's you know issue was when he was born, there was no one there to hold and he cried for like days and like, yes, because they didn't have those people. That is huge. Babies need those people to come hold the babies.
Yeah, when mom's not there, maybe encourage her to do that.
Dang Morgan's good. Yeah, I'll tell her that today.
When you said the nurse thing, I was like that, I feel like that's perfect.
And my sister works at a hospital. So my sister could take her to work, they can carpool. This is perfect.
Now. I don't know if that's in every single hospital, but I think it's in a lot of them. I think most of them need it. And especially if she's a former nurse, they're really gonna want her. Yeah, because she even has like ability to see things.
That's huge.
I love that good idea of market volunteer thing. What about you, any funny things happened in your life recently?
Let's see. I mean there's always funny things happened in my life.
I know, and it could be your dad moments. It can also be individual in the world.
You know, what's weird that I've been doing? Oh my gosh, Like this is so stupid. I've never like, you know how Bobby like does cards and memorabilia and whatever. Like, I've never been part of it. But he gave my kids, like, I don't know, one hundred cards and so they can start their own business. And so they started selling like sports cards, and you know, they sell it on eBay. They have their little account. They work together, they take pictures of the cards and then they give Bobby like ten percent of the profits. That's okay, So they learn how to.
Like give a little business.
Yeah, it's like, all right, you get your inventory, you sell it, you give ten percent of the investor, and like they do all that.
It's like a modern day shark tank.
It's pretty amazing and they work well together. It's my two middle boys, and so when school started they kind of just like they didn't have time for it. And so then I kind of stepped in there and be like, well, let me try this out. And so I've kind of been like looking at eBay every day and now I'm like I could buy cards. Like so I look at athletes and I'm watching football on Saturday.
And be like, Eddie, Bobby's robbing off and he's so old.
So stupid. But I watch athletes on Saturday, college football athletes, and I go and I that looks pretty good. Like if I buy his card now for one dollar, because there's card like no namers, you can buy their cards for one dollar, and then in three years when they get drafted to the NFL, if they get drafted the NFL, then their card goes from one dollar to twenty.
Okay, but how do you know that you're even going to be thinking about doing this in three years I'm not.
And that's what's so stupid about it. Like I've gotten like I've bought twenty cards. They've been in my mailbox like that come in of twenty no name football players that I'm just banking on them like to get drafted and like make some money. And I'm like, what am I doing? What am I doing? It's so stupid.
One that's saying, you know where the card.
Is in three years, Well it's I have a stack of it, okay, right now, you're right till my wife goes in there and throws them all out, well real quick.
To the fact that you'd even be interested to continue doing this in three years.
I look, I can completely agree. And the fact that I'm wasting my money on a card, like why am I even doing this? I don't understand it. But it's something that now like I'm just I'm all in. I'm going to find that one player. I'm going to find that one player and he's gonna make it and he's going to be a superstar in the NFL. No one thought it. And I have his autograph card that would be really cool, yeah, but probably not gonna probably not gonna happen.
This is one of the This is where you need to just invest in like one really cool thing and hold on to it for a long time. That's what you need to do to have like a like something of Dallas Cowboys that you'll love even keeping regardless if it never does.
I have those two. I have those two. Okay, well you know what, I will tell you something crazy to happen. And I want to get your opinion on this, okay, and I can't really talk about it on the main show. I called an ouver up.
Okay, it's weird.
I called an uber up to go to the airport, like I don't know, a few months ago, and they picked me up, and there's a guy. He started talking like halfway through the ride. He's like, I know who you are. I'm like, oh, cool man, cool. Yeah, He's like, I listen to you all the time. Cool dude, awesome. Start talking about music, well while he's a songwriter. Drops me off, dude, good to meet you, awesome. Thanks for the ride. Hey man, it's good to meet you too. Thank you. I have fun. I have a good trip. Bye. I leave. Two weeks later, I get an uber from my house to go to the airport. Same guy, I was like, what has happened? So I'm like, and I have no problem, Like if it was just a random thing, which it could have been a random thing. Yeah, but it was very shocking to me that out of all the ubers in the city then I got the same driver. Have you ever gotten the same driver twice?
Gosh, I don't think so in the entire time that I've ever ubered the exact same one, the exact same driver.
And cool dude, Like, I'm nothing against it. To me, it's just very strange.
He lives right by.
You, he says he doesn't, because I asked him.
Where does he is?
Like both times like yeah, I just drop someone off by here.
There ain't no way that that's a coincidence.
Twice both times like yeah, I just dropped someone off down the road.
Because it's all about proximity to you, and if he knows he picked you up there, then well what he could be doing is dropping people off, like because they can select their rides right basically they come in.
They say, but what are the chances that I'm going to need a ride to go to the air.
For Like, well, maybe he just doesn't over there more often.
Maybe maybe may have a chance encounter kind of.
And it's I'm sure it's nothing right, Like it's cool and he's a cool dude. We have good conversations, like, don't mind it at all. I really don't mind. If there's a third time he fixed me up, really don't mind.
Okay, But if there is a third time, that's off the like right now we're in coincidence territory.
Yeah, but if there is a third time, that's on pra you know how like.
When you're traveling and again, no you don't ride on there like going, Oh I guess you do, say I'm going to the airport.
Yeah.
So like but the uber driver never like meets you outside the car, like with a trunk open.
Mind you really really well when they see me coming out with the say coming out of the luggage.
Oh yeah, but like I came out and he was like by the back of the car with the trunk open.
Oh.
It was like Valice, like, oh, what's up man? You again?
You think he has a crush on you?
Maybe maybe, I mean I kind of have a crush on him. He's a good dude, good dude.
Maybe he wants to write a song with you.
Maybe maybe we'll do that on the next ride. Oh god, all right, let's write a song.
If there's a third one, I need to know. No, No, I know, and I will tell you that you think right now, it's just a coincidence.
Two coincidence? Yeah, three, call the cops.
Baby, We just write a song in the over and then call the cops. You know, you get a little bit of both.
Okay, Well, we're gonna tap out of here and go do some listener Q and A okay, which we'll get posted here later today.
But Eddie, thanks for coming on.
Thanks Morgan.
I can talk to you all day, but I have to cut us off and.
We will be here all I know we will, and we don't want to do that.
No, and I know you have a life. And yes, your mom's in town. You got to hang out with her some more.
She's watching TV shows.
She's good, she's getting her moment of calm and peace.
Se I caught her cheating on me because we started watching the Penguin together. Yeah, the other night. But I can't stay up late. She she'll stay up till three in the morning, like watching That's fair.
That's that's what retirement is. You gotta do whatever you want I get it.
I gotta work. So like at ten o'clock she's like, you want to do another episode? Like, Mom, I gotta go to bed. And she's like, okay, we'll stop watching it. We'll stop watching it. So we stopped watching it. We watched one episode, stopped watching it. I walked in. I came home from work, walked in the house. She was watching it. I'm like, Mom, what are you doing. She's like, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. We started over. We can start it over. So she was cheating on me watching the penguin.
That's funny. Hey, can't trust the partners, can't.
Trust the mom and dad, can't trust nobody.
Not on these streets. Oh my goodness. Okay, well tell the people where they can find you. Hear you all that good stuff?
Yeah? A producer Eddy everywhere, Instagram everywhere?
Man, look an uber. He also might be in there.
I might be in your uber. If you're an uber driver, I might be in there. Uh yeah at twenty five whistles too much access on YouTube? I don't know whatever. How's your podcasting?
It's doing really well.
People are loving it awesome, just like when we are books and down. A girl came out to you, like your podcast is changing my life.
No way, I'm gonna cry.
That's what it's all about, right, Like, that's why we do things.
Yeah, just like to feel connected to people and people really want to listen and enjoy it.
Yeah, so you can you can call us and take this personally.
This week, I have a holistic nutritionist on her name's Grace and talks all about like grocery shopping, what to look for and ingredients and that sound that sounds.
Crazy, right, Like it's holistic nutritions. That sounds like woo, what is that? That's really cool? Yeah, because holistic, like I truly believe that what we need is on this earth, like right here around us.
M h.
And if we can stick to that, it's huge.
It's much better for our bodies, way better.
Because for the first thirty years of my life, I destroyed my body with food.
Yeah, because you had to have that whole experience when you what was it that you got diagnosed with?
Well, I have it's autoimmune disease, but I like the way it came out on me was vivil. I go through my skin, but it's all gut related. A lot of antibiotics. I had staff infection when Mrso when I was like, I don't know, twenty five or something for like three years. So all those antibiotics totally screw screwed my my system up. And plus the bad food like good.
Everything, And she's specifically focuses on gut like digestive health.
Yeah. The way somebody told me one time is gut that is the that's like your gosh. No, I know this in the car, you put fuel in the car, and however, I think it's a carburetor something. There's something in the car that converts the fuel into I know, but whatever it is. And I'm sure car people are like, oh, you idiot, you don't know what you're talking about. But you know, your food is the fuel, and your gut is what gets your fuel and turns it into whatever your body needs, like all the nutrients whatever. And if you're putting bad fuel in your car, it's not gonna work. Yeah, you're putting bad fuel in your body, it's not gonna work. Same deal.
Yeah.
So it sounds wacky, but holistic nutritionist is awesome.
Yeah, it's at well, thank you.
Yeah.
And then you know, are us talking last time when we were on Best Bits inspired an episode I did. Next week, I actually have on a cycle therapist. We talk about grief, and then I actually bring on Judah from Judah on the Lion to talk about their album The Process, which is all about breaking down grief.
Yes, so that's also the next episode.
That's got to be deep.
Yeah, they always are.
Jude is a deep dude.
Yeah.
He was so awesome.
Yeah, like genuinely, just like we went at it immediately and was like, Okay, we're down, we are in the depth.
No, like, oh do you feel like you got into it? Got it, got it, got it?
So there it is.
Take this personal if you want to go check those out. But Eddie, thank you again for being here.
Thank you Morgan again.
We keep talking.
Okay, we just stop.
Bye.
