Brother.earthh, the Botanical Brotha, Brayan discusses how plants were an integral part of his transition from Puerto Rico to New Jersey. We learn how plant shops aren’t necessary in Puerto Rico because of the rich biodiversity on every corner. He lies about his houseplant count yet keeps it beautifully transparent about culture shock and coming to terms with queerness as a teen in  New Jersey. Colah and Brayan attempt to dismantle patriarchy as it relates to the disconnect between appreciating nature and perceived masculinity. Spoiler alert: it’s hard out here for a femme!

Colah and Brayan get into the impact of #costagate on the black plant community, scoff at white privilege and celebrate the dope contributions of Africa’s biodiversity to our collective houseplant collections. Somebody tell Karen that her ZZ plant is African!
