View descriptionShare
Famous business leader Al Dunlap (nicknamed the Chainsaw) wrote a best-selling manifesto titled Mean Business, making a very successful career out of business brutality. Even Lord Acton famously said, 'Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men'. So, is there any hope for those in leadership? Our guests: George Savvides has over 30 years’ experience in the Australian and New Zealand healthcare sector, having been the CEO at Medibank for 14 years until 2016. In 2020, it was announced that he would be appointed as Chair of the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Board for a period of five years. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Dr Jenny George has returned to her role as Dean of the Melbourne Business School. Previously, she served as CEO of Converge International, a leading Australian health and well-being solutions provider, for over 9 years. She has also served on several boards of a variety of not-for-profit entities.
