In this episode of Beyond the Now, Laurice Elhaj, National Product & Design Manager for Ardency and Keyton Retirement Living, is joined by Rohan Smith, Senior Interior Designer at Coco Republic, for an inspiring conversation about the power of thoughtful design in shaping the future of retirement living.

As expectations evolve and lifestyles become more experience‑led, Rohan reflects on how the sector has transformed over the past 15 years — moving from purely functional environments to beautifully curated spaces that champion lifestyle, wellbeing and an authentic sense of home.

Together, Laurice and Rohan explore how great design can balance elegance with practicality, especially for those transitioning into a new life stage or choosing to downsize without compromise. They dive into the design principles that truly endure, how interiors can nurture emotional wellbeing, and why creating personalised, uplifting and intuitive spaces is essential for long‑term liveability.

The conversation also highlights the unique design ethos behind Ardency’s luxury retirement living spaces — and offers meaningful guidance for anyone considering how they want to live, feel and thrive in their next chapter.
