On September 30, the Ithaca College football team has its home opener against Hobart for its first game at the newly-renovated Butterfield Stadium. Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Susan Bassett joins the show to talk about the new upgrades to the stadium and how the project came to be.

Wednesday, September 27: SUNY Cortland volleyball has rattled off six straight wins, including last night's sweep at Oswego. Anna Pilkey was recently named the conference's offensive player of the week for her dazzling performance at the William Smith Heron Invitational. She joins BTL to look back at the season up to this point.

Tuesday, September 26: Cornell Victorious was heard loud and proud at the Yale Bowl on Saturday, as the Big Red football team knocked off the defending Ivy League champions 23-21. Jackson Kennedy's 37-yard field goal was the game winner as time expired, as the team moved to 2-0 to begin the year. He joins BTL to talk about the big win and his strong start to the season.

Friday, September 22: On Monday, the Dryden girls and boys soccer teams will be playing for more than just a victory at Volante Field. They'll be hosting "You Matter" games, raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Soccer player Tyler Franzese and Dryden school PR specialist Lara Patz join the show to discuss the movement and how you can be involved in the initiative. 

Thursday, September 21: Cornell is 1-0 and is off to New Haven for a date with Yale on Saturday. Holt Fletcher finished last weekend's game with a pair of interceptions and joins BTL to talk about the upcoming matchup against the Bulldogs.

Wednesday, September 20: This weekend, The History Center In Tompkins County will try to fundraise in one of the most unique ways possible: 24 hours of biking around Ithaca, Tompkins County, the Finger Lakes and Central New York. Wednesday, September 20: SUNY Cortland football heads into the bye week with a 2-1 record to begin the season. Despite Saturday's loss to Susquehanna, JJ Laap was named the Empire 8's Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his five passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He joins BTL to discuss the first three games of the season and talk about his massive offensive numbers.

Tuesday, September 19: Cornell football is 1-0 after last Saturday's 23-20 win at Lehigh. Davon Kiser finished the afternoon with four catches for 145 yards and a touchdown to help the Big Red pick up another non-league win. He joins BTL to look back on the win, discuss his improvements to this season, and preview Saturday's Ivy opener against Yale. 

Thursday, September 14: We are inching closer and closer to the start of the Cornell Football season and Jake Stebbins is back for a fifth year with the Big Red. The All-Ivy linebacker joins the show to look back at the preseason, preview Saturday's game at Lehigh and discuss the wildly talented linebacker corps.

Wednesday, September 13: After leading the team to five wins a season ago, Jameson Wang has his sights set on even bigger things in 2023. As the Big Red gears up for its season opener down at Lehigh on Saturday, the junior quarterback joins BTL to discuss the improvements he's made in the offseason and how the team may build off of what they did last year.

Friday, September 8: Cornell football kicks off the 2023 season eight days from today and the Big Red's looking to make even more noise this year after last season's 5-5 record. Head Coach David Archer joins the show to preview the season, break down Jameson Wang's growth at quarterback, and discuss expectations for a position group that could pose problems for Big Red opponents.

Friday, September 8: Ithaca College women's soccer is unbeaten through the first three games of the season, outscoring opponents 16-1 so far. Head Coach Mindy Quigg, in her 30th year with the Bombers, joins BTL to highlight what's gone right for the Bombers, and how last season's Liberty League title has ignited the team so far this year.

Thursday, September 7: The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport's Runway 5k returns on September 17th, giving local runners the chance to race on the airport's runway and taxiway. Chris Stephany joins the show to preview what to expect and how runners can sign up. Learn more at FlyIthaca.com.

Wednesday, September 6: SUNY Cortland opened up the season with a 42-13 drubbing over tenth ranked Delaware Valley last Saturday. Jaden Alfanostjohn rushed for a game high 169 yards and was named the Empire 8's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. He joins BTL to look back on the win and discuss the improvements to his game from last season.

Thursday, August 31: Despite a first round exit from the NCAA playoffs last year, SUNY Cortland football has high hopes for another top-notch season. The Red Dragons took command of the Empire 8, winning another conference title with one of the top scoring offenses in the entire country. Head Coach Curt Fitzpatrick stops by to get you ready for the season and preview Saturday's heavyweight showdown against No. 10 Delaware Valley.

Wednesday, August 30: Last year was a banner season for Big Red men's soccer, as the program won its first NCAA tournament game in more than four decades. With a tough non-league schedule coming up and a No. 20 ranking in the national polls, Connor Drought and company look to start the season off with a bang at 12th ranked Vermont on Friday.

Tuesday, August 29: After going unbeaten during the regular season and reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament last year, expectations and excitement are both high for the Ithaca College football team. The Bombers begin the season at No. 18 Johns Hopkins and linebacker Ben Stola drops by the show to preview the matchup and what to expect this year.

Tuesday, August 29: Football is back and that means the return of the Tompkins County Sports Council Football Luncheons, which is celebrating 46 years in 2023. Every Thursday, beginning September 14th, fans will be able to hear from Cornell Football Head Coach David Archer, Ithaca College Football Head Coach Mike Toerper and Section IV football coaches from Tompkins County high schools as they all look back on last week's game and preview what's to come for their teams. Friday, August 25: Tomorrow night, Week 0 of the college football begins as ESPN Ithaca will air Westwood One's coverage of Hawaii at Vanderbilt. Hawaii Sports Radio Network's Paul Brecht stops by the show to preview the Rainbows' upcoming season and tomorrow night's matchup.

Wednesday, August 23: Over the weekend, Maxie Baughan passed away at the age of 85. The nine-time NFL Pro Bowler spent six seasons as the head coach of the Cornell football team and guided the team to a share of the 1988 Ivy League title. Longtime Ithaca sports journalist Steve Lawrence stops by to share some of his personal stories on Maxie.

Wednesday, August 23: Earlier this month, Cornell Athletics announced the election of 15 members into the Sports Hall of Fame - which includes former lacrosse star Rob Pannell. The four time All-American and Tewaaraton Award winner ended his Big Red career as one of the greatest college lacrosse players of all-time. He joins BTL to discuss his Hall of Fame induction, the talent of Cornell athletes during that stretch of time, and the last few weeks of the PLL season.

Tuesday, August 22: The Trumansburg Fair begins tonight with the motorsports events highlighting the six day schedule. Jay Milligan of JM Productions joins BTL to discuss what fairgoers can expect to see this year.

Tuesday, August 22: On Saturday, former Cornell football head coach Maxie Baughan passed away at 85, according to a release from the Philadelphia Eagles. The College Football  Hall of Famer spent six seasons with the Big Red and helped them win a share of the 1988 Ivy League title with their dramatic victory over Penn. Dave Wohlhueter joins BTL to look back on that season and discuss Maxie's days with the Big Red.

Monday, August 21: The Trumansburg Fair begins on Tuesday, with the motorsport events highlighting the week of action at the Trumansburg Fair Grounds. Shawn Aman of Interlaken will be participating in the Demolition Derby and driving the ESPN Ithaca car. He joins the show to talk about his strategy for the Derby and the regional popularity of these events.

Friday, August 18: Have you ever wondered how someone joins a NASCAR team as a pit crew member? BTL brings on Mike Osinski, a former minor league baseball player and Vestal native, who is now a jackman. He joins the show to talk about his wild journey from the Red Sox to NASCAR.

Friday, August 18: NASCAR weekend is finally here and there will be plenty to experience at the legendary road course over the next three days. NASCAR's Chip Wile joins the show to preview what fans can expect at The Glen and who could take the checkered flag during Sunday's Cup Series race.

Wednesday, August 16: The hills in Watkins Glen will be rocking all weekend long as NASCAR returns to the Finger Lakes with plenty of storylines to be had. MRN's Kyle Rickey will be on the call for all three races and joins BTL to discuss the playoff importance of Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen and who could be celebrating that night in victory lane.

Tuesday, August 15: This weekend at Watkins Glen International is about as important as it gets for Chase Elliott, who finished second at last week's race on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. On the outside-looking-in for a playoff spot, a first place finish at the Glen will secure the chance to race for the Cup Series championship. Elliott joins the show to discuss what he expects on Sunday during the Go Bowling at the Glen.

Friday, August 11: The Miami Marlins have been one of baseball's most surprising and exciting teams this season. As they get set for a three game series against the Yankees, Marlins play-by-play broadcaster and Trumansburg native Kyle Sielaff stops by to chat about what's gone right so far for the Fish and preview the matchup against New York. 

Thursday, August 10: The Bombers are back in town and ready to make a repeat run as Liberty League champions and go on an even deep NCAA Tournament run. AJ Wingfield was recently named a Third Team Preseason All-American by D3Football.com, and joins BTL to talk about the honor and preview what's to come for Ithaca this season.

Wednesday, August 9: Last November, Ithaca College football offensive lineman  Nick Capodilupo brought the house down before Cortaca at Yankee Stadium with his rendition of the national anthem. Next week, he'll be behind the microphone to sing the Star Spangled Banner again as the Yankees open up a series against the Red Sox. He joins BTL to talk about his upcoming visit to the Bronx.

Friday, August 4: This weekend, the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament returns, with 127 teams from across the region competing in Ithaca. Rahmel Mack stops by BTL to preview the tournament and discuss what fans can expect to see at this year's edition. Tuesday, August 1: The countdown is on as NASCAR returns to Watkins Glen International in just over two weeks and the buzz is brewing. Brad Keselowski found himself in victory lane this past weekend as a team owner. He joins the show to look back at his year so far, discuss his past success at Watkins Glen and the rise in road course racing over the last decade.

Tuesday, August 1: The guys are back for the first Tuesday in August as Alex Linde and Alex Jankowski join Nick Karski in studio for another Tasting Tuesday. Tuesday, July 25: The Subway Series begins tonight in the Bronx while some questions remain up in the air for the Yankees and Mets over these next few weeks. Mets play-by-play broadcaster Keith Raad stops by the show to discuss the team's pitching woes and whether the team will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.

Wednesday, July 19: Ithaca College recently announced its 53rd Hall of Fame class to be inducted on October 27th, and it features Division III basketball's all-time assist leader. Sean Rossi will be enshrined after finishing his career with 957 assists, which ranks ninth all-time in all divisions of college basketball. The All-American scored 1,147 career points and helped the Bombers reached the Sweet 16 in 2013. He joins BTL to reflect on his illustrious career as a Bomber, and what it's like to be honored with a Hall of Fame induction.

Wednesday, July 12: For years, the Racker Rivals Big Red hockey game has been a staple event to the local community, fundraising money to benefit the Racker Center. Cornell men's hockey Head Coach Mike Schafer joins the show to talk about the importance of this event to him and the program. Friday, June 30: Ithaca College recently announced its 53rd Hall of Fame class to be inducted on October 27th, and it features one of the most prolific scorers to play on South Hill. Lansing native Rachael Palladino will be enshrined after finishing her career with 63 goals and 23 assists for 149 points. She was a three-time All-American and was the Empire 8's Player of the Year three times. She joins BTL to reflect on her illustrious career as a Bomber, and what it's like to be honored with a Hall of Fame induction.

Wednesday, June 28: Last month, Maurice Kearney was named the new head coach of the SUNY Cortland men's basketball program, taking over for longtime head coach Tom Spanbauer. Maurice was a two-time captain of the program from 2010-2014, an assistant from 2014-2018 and the associate head coach from 2018-2022. He joins BTL to chat about his hiring, his return to the program after a year away at NYU, and what he brings to the table as a head coach.

Thursday, June 15: ESPN Ithaca is proud to recognize our area athletes and coaches on an outstanding sports season. Union Springs girls basketball head coach Andy Kalet has been named our Coach of the Year in a Girls Sport, presented by Guthrie. Andy guided Union Springs to a 25-1 record, an IAC and Section title, and an appearance in the New York State Class C Semifinals. Wednesday, June 14: ESPN Ithaca is proud to recognize our area athletes and coaches on an outstanding sports season. Groton football head coach Joe Manning has been named our Coach of the Year in a Boys Sport, presented by Guthrie. Monday, June 12: ESPN Ithaca is proud to recognize our area athletes and coaches on an outstanding sports season. Odessa-Montour's Hannah Nolan has been named our Scholar-Athlete of the Year, presented by Visions Federal Credit Union. Hannah was an All-State soccer and basketball player, breaking records in both sports. She also was a record-breaking track and field athlete for the Grizzlies. Wednesday, June 7: With air quality issues sweeping across all of New York State, this weekend's state tournament championships and meets linger with many question marks. Dr. Robert Zayas, executive director of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, joins the show with the latest news and information regarding high school sports this week.

Friday, June 2: After 36 seasons, Ithaca College men's lacrosse head coach Jeff Long has retired from the program as the all-time winningest coach in program history. His record of 362-182 ranks 11th all-time across all divisions of collegiate lacrosse. Long also served as an assistant coach for the women's soccer team for over three decades. He joins the show to look back at his illustrious career on the South Hill.

Wednesday, May 31: For the third time in her career, Ithaca College's Meghan Matheny has won the NCAA Pole Vaulting national championship. In her final competition as a Bomber, the senior cleared 4.10 meters (13' 5.25") to secure the crown and become a six-time All-American on South Hill. She joins BTL to look back at her winning mark and her road to success from Lansing High School to national champion.

Tuesday, May 30: Last week, Ithaca College pole vaulter Dom Mikula won his first national championship in his final season with the Bombers track and field team. Mikula reached a mark of 5.05 meters (16' 6.75") to win the Division III title at St. John Fisher. He's the first men's outdoor track and field national champion and ends his illustrious career as a seven-time All American. He joins the show to look back at his winning mark and his road to success from Trumansburg High School to national champion.
