While most Red Dragon fans know him as an all-conference running back on the football field, this season marked a new challenge - stepping onto the wrestling mat for the first time at the collegiate level. Wednesday, January 14, 2026: Cortland women’s basketball is on a roll. The Red Dragons have won nine straight, capped by a dominant 71-41 victory over Buffalo State, and once again sit atop the SUNYAC standings. After capturing two of the last three conference championships, the standard hasn’t changed in Cortland. Wednesday, November 19, 2025: For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Cortland men's soccer is Sweet 16 bound. The Red Dragons got there thanks to a 1-0 double overtime win over Delhi in Round 1 before beating Catholic 2-1 in Round 2. Wednesday, November 12, 2025: Big news was announced on Wednesday for the “biggest little game in the nation.” Ahead of this weekend’s Cortaca Jug showdown between SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College, it was announced that the rivalry will return to Yankee Stadium in 2026. Cortland Director of Athletic Mike Urtz joins Nick Karski to discuss how it all came together, what it means for both programs, and why Cortaca continues to captivate the college football landscape.

Wednesday, November 5: After winning three of the last four games to close out the regular season, Cortland field hockey is gearing up for the semifinals of the SUNYAC tournament against New Paltz on Friday. Adrienne Mayes leads the team in points this season and joins the show to preview the game and look back at the team's regular season.

Wednesday, October 29, 2025: On Tuesday, SUNY Cortland women’s soccer closed out the regular season with a 1-0 win at Oneonta, powered by Tyla Vuotto’s second-half game-winner. The junior forward heads into the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals leading the Red Dragons with seven goals and four assists. Vuotto joins the show to reflect on the team’s 13-game unbeaten streak, the keys to their success, and what lies ahead in the conference tournament.

Wednesday, October 22, 2025: The SUNY Cortland men's hockey season officially gets underway next Friday at home when the Red Dragons open the year against Lebanon Valley. It also marks the return of the team's annual Stop Suicide Charity Game and Resource Fair. The Red Dragons have raised over $52,000 in five years for the Central New York Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The Resource Fair will be held at 6pm in the Park Center Hall of Champions area on the second floor. Wednesday, October 15, 2025: Cortland volleyball is on fire - winners of 11 straight, including Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Morrisville at Corey Gym. Leading the charge is Kira Pirrera, a four-time SUNYAC Offensive Athlete of the Week who’s averaging 4.72 points and 4.11 kills per set. She joins the show to break down the Red Dragons’ hot streak and talk about how her game has taken another step forward this season.

Wednesday, September 24, 2025: The non-conference slate of SUNY Cortland men's soccer season has wrapped up and the Red Dragons finished 5-1-2 heading into this weekend's SUNYAC opener against New Paltz. Head Coach Steve Axtell joins the show to look back at the team's first eight games, the Red Dragons' tough defense, and also discusses his charitable standup paddleboard excursion from the summer. Wednesday, September 17, 2025: Cortland football earned its first victory of the Tom Blumenauer era with a 30-6 win over Union last Saturday. Anthony Luciano was a key factor, coming up with a second-quarter interception in the end zone and later forcing and recovering a fumble in the end zone for the Red Dragons. He joins the show to reflect on the win and share what went right for the team.

Wednesday, September 10, 2025: On Saturday, seven new members will be inducted into the SUNY Cortland C-Club Hall of Fame, including longtime men's basketball head coach and former player Tom Spanbauer. As the program’s all-time wins leader and six-time SUNYAC Coach of the Year, he joins Nick Karski to reflect on his playing days, nearly three decades on the sideline, and the honor of being inducted into the C-Club Hall of Fame.

Wednesday, September 3: Cortland football is less than three days away from opening up a new season and they'll be doing it with new head coach Tom Blumenauer. He joins the show to look back at the preseason, discuss the Red Dragons' offensive weapons and preview Saturday's opener against No. 23 Grove City.

Wednesday, April 23: Cortland lacrosse's Sam Rothman is putting together another big season for Cortland men's lacrosse, who's now ranked 16th in the country in this week's USILA Coaches Poll. The senior leads the Red Dragons with 40 goals and 20 assists and was recently named the conference's offensive player of the week. He joins BTL to look back on last week's overtime thriller against Ithaca and discuss what's made the team roll so far this year.

Wednesday, April 16: It's been a month of milestones for Chris Bonacci and the Cortland baseball team. The fifth year ballplayer became the 10th player in program history to reach 200 career hits on April 3rd against Fredonia. Then last Sunday, Head Coach Joe Brown picked up his 900th career victory. Bonacci joins the show to chat about these marks and discuss another great season at the plate for the Red Dragons.

Wednesday, April 2: SUNYAC play is underway for the Cortland baseball team and senior pitcher Luis Misla is coming off a brilliant day against the defending champs, SUNY New Paltz. The lefty threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits while striking out 16 strikeouts to help the Red Dragons pick up the 6-0 win. He joins the show to look back at last Friday's victory and preview what's to come for the team this season.

Wednesday, March 26: National champions! Josh Jeffes anchored Cortland's 4x400 relay team to the top spot at NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in Rochester on March 15, highlighting a massive weekend for the Red Dragons. Jeffes also earned All-American honors in the 400 for the fourth time in his career, marking his first with the Cortland program. He joins BTL to look back on an exciting couple of days at Nazareth University.

Wednesday, March 12: Cortland women's lacrosse is 2-2 to begin the season, but Toni Cashman is putting together another spectacular start for the Red Dragons. In last week's lopsided win over Hartwick, she scored six goals and became the sixth player in program history to reach 200 career goals. She joins BTL to look back on the milestone and preview a pair of games against nationally ranked opponents.

Wednesday, March 5: Cortland women's basketball is off to the NCAA tournament after winning the SUNYAC crown over the weekend against New Paltz. Kayla Campbell was recently named the SUNYAC's Co-Player of the Year and joins the show to look back at her year, what's made the team so dangerous and previews what it will take to win their opening round game.

Wednesday, February 26: Nearly two weeks have passed since SUNY Cortland officially named Tom Blumenauer as the new head coach of the Red Dragons football program. Blumenauer takes the helm after three seasons leading Franklin & Marshall, where he guided the Diplomats to a 21-11 record. A former standout himself, he was a two-time all-conference player at Ithaca College. Now, he’s set to bring his vision and leadership to Cortland. Coach Blumenauer joins Between the Lines to talk all things Red Dragon football and share his plans for the program’s future.

Wednesday, February 12: It's been almost two weeks since Nate Berke put his name into the Cortland hockey record books, as he became the 12th player in program history to reach 100 career points. The Red Dragons have clinched a SUNYAC playoff berth and have a huge game on Friday at Oswego. He joins BTL to talk about everything Red Dragons hockey.

Wednesday, January 29: The nationally ranked Cortland men's hockey team has won seven of their last nine games, and has taken ahold of the top spot in the SUNYAC standings with last Saturday's win against Oswego. Ronan Mobley made a season-best 31 saves in the win for the Red Dragons and looks back on the victory and discusses what's gone right for the team heading into the home stretch.

Wednesday, January 22: It's been another spectacular year for SUNY Cortland wrestling's Angelo Centrone. Last weekend, the Red Dragons finished as co-champions of the conference, thanks in big part to Angelo's perfect 5-0 day - including a sudden-victory overtime win. The fifth ranked wrestler in the country joins the show to look back on the season and his unbeaten 22-0 start.

Wednesday, January 15: Cortland men's basketball has found its stride. After starting the season 2-7, the Red Dragons are on a 4-game winning streak heading into this weekend's games against New Paltz and Oneonta. Head coach Maurice Kearney joins the show to chat about the season as a whole and their successful run of form recently.

Wednesday, January 8: Cortland women's basketball is on a roll, starting the season 8-2, including last night's 52-42 win on the road at Fredonia. Second year head coach Colleen Ames joins the show to look back on the victory and discuss what's been going right for the Red Dragons so far this year.

Wednesday, December 4: SUNY Cortland football is gearing up for the third round of the NCAA Playoffs after last weekend's 17-9 win over Endicott. Senior linebacker Jack Winey finished the day with 11 tackles, six solo, as well as a sack and two tackles for loss. He looks back on the victory and talk about the defense's success through 11 games.

Wednesday, November 20: The Jugs will be staying in Cortland. Last Saturday, Cortland secured a 28-17 over Ithaca College to end the regular season with an undefeated 10-0 record. Defensive lineman Max Llewellyn looks back on the victory and discusses what's gone right for the Red Dragons this season.

Saturday, November 16th: The 65th Cortaca Jug Game did not disappoint. SUNY Cortland football took down Ithaca College 28-17 at Grady Field on Saturday to win back-to-back Cortacas. Quarterback Zac Boyes threw for 89 yards and ran for 132 more yards with two total touchdowns, and he talked after the game about the victory and his standout performance.

Saturday, November 16th: The Cortaca Jugs remain in Cortland. On Saturday, the Red Dragons defended home turf with a 28-17 win over Ithaca to close out the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. After the game, Head coach Curt Fitzpatrick talked after the game about how they were able to take down the Bombers for the second straight year.

Thursday, November 7: Cortland men's hockey is 2-0 to begin the season with convincing 7-2 win at Lebanon Valley and 5-2 win at Alvernia. On Friday, they'll host No. 2 Adrian in their home opener, while also holding their annual Stop Suicide Charity Game and Resource Fair. The Red Dragons have raised over $41,000 in four years for the Central New York Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Wednesday, October 30: The season will be off and running this weekend as the defending SUNYAC champions opens the new campaign on the road at Manhattanville. With a handful of pieces to last year's championship season gone but many big time performers returning, Head Coach Rick Filighera joins the show to preview Red Dragons hockey.

Friday, October 25: Matt Shultz has made his way to the top of the record books at Cortland, recently becoming the program's all-time leader in career goals (38) and points (92). With a huge SUNYAC showdown coming up on Saturday at Buffalo State, he joins the show to preview the game and look back on his illustrious Red Dragon career.

Wednesday, October 16: SUNY Cortland field hockey is 11-1 on the season and junior goalkeeper Emma Morgan has continued to dazzle in her third year starting for the Red Dragons. She joins the show to look back on the last few weeks of the season and discuss what it would take to make a deep NCAA tournament run.

Wednesday, September 25: No. 2 Cortland football squeaked out a huge victory on the road last Saturday at No. 11 Susquehanna, 40-38, rallying from an early 17 point deficit against the lone team to defeat the Red Dragons last season. Running back Ethan Gallo, who finished with 165 yards and three touchdowns, joins the show to look back on the win.

Wednesday, September 18: The wins keep piling up for the Cortland volleyball team, now 7-2 on the season and winners of six in a row. Middle blocker Emma Reilly joins the show to look back on the last few weeks of the season and preview a big weekend tournament at the Messiah Invitational.

Wednesday, September 11: Cortland golfer Gina Milazzo has put together a strong start to the season for the Red Dragons, including last weekend's first place finish at the Ithaca Invitational. The first year player tied a school single-round record with a 71 on Sunday and posted the second-best two-day score in program history with a 146 to help the team finish in second place. She joins BTL to look back at the weekend.

Wednesday, September 4: The defending national champions are back at it on Saturday as the Cortland football team opens up the new campaign with a Saturday afternoon road date against Hilbert. Preseason All-American quarterback Zac Boyes hops on the ESPN Ithaca phonelines to preview the year and offer his expectations for the season.

Wednesday, August 28: The new season begins in just two days for the Cortland men's soccer team as the Red Dragons welcome Rochester on Friday. With a week and a half of practice under their belt, head coach Steve Axtell drops by the show to give a season outlook after last year's team made a deep NCAA tournament to the third round of the playoffs.

Friday, August 23: The defending national champs are back on the gridiron and a little more than a week into training camp, preparing for the new campaign. Curt Fitzpatrick, head coach of the Red Dragons, stops by the show to look back at the start of camp, discuss recent roster moves, and the success of alums JJ Laap and Cole Burgess who are both fighting for roster spots on NFL teams.
