Thursday, July 24: ESPN Ithaca's Community Gamechangers recognizes individuals throughout the Finger Lakes who have made an impact in our sports community.

Fran Elia has been the steady hand behind SUNY Cortland athletics for over three decades. From writing recaps and tracking stats to organizing national tournaments and managing coverage for 25 varsity teams, he’s been at the heart of Red Dragon sports since 1992.

Fran brings humility, precision, and passion to a role that often works behind the scenes - but carries major impact. Whether it’s highlighting a student-athlete’s big moment or mentoring future communicators, he’s helped build the legacy and visibility of Cortland athletics with care and consistency.
