Thursday, October 24: ESPN Ithaca's Community Gamechangers recognizes individuals throughout the Finger Lakes who have made an impact in our sports community.

Gordon Begent is the program coordinator at the Ithaca Youth Bureau and helps provide programs for area youth to enjoy. He organizes and runs many local events for the area young athletes including the annual Elks Shoot Out and helps connect the Ithaca community with the Ithaca College athletics community. 

His nomination comes from David Rogers and Melanie Rogers who say "Gordy works tirelessly to provide programs for the area youths to enjoy. He organizes and runs many local events for the area young athletes, including the annual Elks Shoot Out. He modestly refers to himself as 'just a kid from Fall Creek' but he is much more than that to me and many others. He is a wonderful coach and mentor to many children in and around Ithaca. He genuinely cares about them and is very generous with his time."
