Rachel Power describes herself as a tourism entrepreneur but she's far more than that.

She’s a cafe owner, but not just any cafe, it’s the only cafe in the world heritage listed Mount Field national park. She’s also a teacher and trainer and is now running an accommodation business and has plans for a conference centre also in the national park.

Associate professor Seana Gall is an epidemiologist who has dedicated her life to finding out how our population is affected by heart disease and stroke. 

She says that understanding what is behind the trends in these diseases can help us to prevent them. This is extremely important in Tasmania where some of the risk factors are higher than we would like them to be - but she says it’s easier to keep track of people here over the course of a long term study.

We are were thrilled to have our first visionary epidemiologist step into the spotlight for this episode.

A seafarer by trade, Reza has spent a huge portion of his life on the ocean and he’s now the senior lecturer of nautical science at Australian Maritime College and the work research that he's doing is helping to change the world.

Through her businesses, The Distillers Institute and the Tasmanian Whiskey Academy, she’s helped more than 1000 distillers to find a place in the industry or to start their own distillery. 

We are thrilled to have her join us here at BET headquarters for this episode of the Visionary Spotlight
