Back in 2013, Dirty Dan Deicher was filling in for Scott Robert Shaw and ran down a list of things that make a good dive bar.

Some of the suggestions included:

 - a sign advertising an event at the local VFW

 - at least one patron should look like they've been there since 10am

 - pool table with faded felt with a sign telling you not to use the pool balls in a fight
