Over in the US, the housing market looks like it's back on the rise.

There's been a slight market slump, but new home sales have risen to a one year high and confidence among buyers and sellers has improved. 

Sam Dickie from Fisher Funds says the US housing market will generally be different to New Zealand's, as they have longer fixed mortgages.
