Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro are among the weight-loss drugs that more people are taking - but questions have been raised about their economic impacts.

These drugs will also have an impact on other sectors, including healthcare and food, and research is still ongoing.

Micron announced its third quarter earnings earlier, beating out analysts' expectations and surpassing estimates for the company's Q4 revenue outlook.

Micron's stock has also gone up as a result, pushing up chip stocks.

Federated Farmers has elected a new national president from South Canterbury.

Waimate arable and dairy farmer Colin Hurst has replaced Wayne Langford.

He's served as vice president for the last three years - and been spokesperson for freshwater, biodiversity, and fire and emergency issues.

Former Federated Farmers president Wayne Langford says he's worked with Colin Hurst for a number of years and he's got confidence in his replacement. 

"He'll go well and he'll bring a different style to me, but that tends to be what you find - if you look at Andrew Hoggard, who was before me, he's quite different to me."

The 12th annual China Business Summit brings together business and political leaders to explore areas for cooperation amid deepening global uncertainty. 

New Zealand exported nearly $20 billion worth of goods to China last year.  

Auckland Business Chamber chief executive Simon Bridges told Mike Hosking political leaders have been shifting this country closer to our security partners, but they still have to maintain New Zealand's commercial interests.  

He says in contrast to the climate of uncertainty surrounding US President Donald Trump, his tariffs, and the war, China has positioned itself as a predictable and reliable partner.
