On World Bipolar Day (30 March 2026), we unpack the realities of Bipolar Disorder and challenge the myths that continue to fuel stigma and misunderstanding. The South African Depression and Anxiety Group is calling on South Africans to rethink what they know about the condition, as misinformation often prevents people from seeking help or speaking openly about their diagnosis.
We’re joined by Tebogo Ramadiro, SADAG’s Substance Use Coordinator and Call Centre Supervisor, to explore how we can create safer, more informed spaces for those living with Bipolar Disorder—and why awareness is key to support, empathy, and access to care.
