When I woke up this morning, I was feeling pretty dangerous. We're on a Cincinnati it's my team, it's my corbet they are, but we thought they were and we got about Hello, you play to win the day. They want you to cook the dinner. At least they ought to let your shot for some of the grocery. And on the way up, we're gonna buy a kneecap. All you kidding me? Playoffs? I'm just here so I won't get funn How could he not be romantic about football happen? Oh my goodness, your girl is barely alive at this point. Nice jeez. Hanging over the welcome to bed with Banetta. We are still in London and we are still alive. Grave Digger high Field tired him. Listen, we are having an absolute blast. We got through the first game biking Saints. So much fun, so crazy. Um My day was so why yelled. It was so cool to see not only like how many Vikings fans showed up. There were so many, so many. In fact, I did like an in game hit and they were like, don't do the skull thing because I was like, oh, I'll get the crowd like pumped up and they're like, no, no, like it is so one sided in here right now that we can't allow that. And so I was like, oh my gosh, okay, Viking's Saints Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I was there all dang day doing the pre show. I got to interview. I was like on the lookout for the ted Lasso guys all day. I wanted to meet Jason Zadegas. I wanted to interview him for the pre show. And it came down literally to the wire we moved inside. My mic wasn't working, my headset wasn't I couldn't hear anybody from LA. It was totally crazy. And then last second, I was unplugged, by the way. That was the issue that my headphones were unplugged, and that's why I couldn't hear anybody. Usually fixes things, Yeah, that's usually helpful when you plug it in, folks. Um, last second, right before my hit Danny Rojas from ted Lasso, Christo Fernandez comes around the corner, they plug me in. I'm good to go. I get to chat with them, um, and I think we're gonna play you a little bit of that right now. So to take a listen, Yes, Christo Fernandezho plays Danny Rojas on the Hint television Show's Head Last Time. I'm so glad I found you. I've been looking everywhere. First off, let's just take a look at the fin Detroit Lions shotts to the National Vintage League. Are you a Lions bin? Are you a football band? Tell me more? I mean, I really like the jacket. It's I love vintage and right, so we have to very good and I mean this is this is my first American football game in real life. I've been following recently. Um, and I'm very excited to be here today. Are you surprised with the amount of fans that you You're you're basically living in London now between one in Guadawahara. Are you surprised at the amount of the other kind of football fans that are here? Yeah? I mean this amazing atmosphere. I'm so happy to be here and just watching the game. And it's gonna be It's gonna be a good game. Now. I know that you are a professional footballer earlier on in your career, the other kind of football soccer, that's what we call it. Would you ever consider maybe, um, you know, when you get a break from Ted Lasso coming out here and being a kicker and football, would you be able to pull that off? I mean it's not. I mean it's a completely different sport. I'm actually like, there's there's a whole technique in throwing it. It's completely different, um for me that I have experienced with my feet right out of the hands. Yeah. Okay, And I got to ask you, NFL is coming to Mexico forty nine ers Cardinals. How do you think it'll be received over there? I mean, it's gonna be so much fun and back in my hometown. I think American football is growing. Um And I kind of wait to be there. And maybe I found him, guys, I found one of him, Matthew. Um. And if you don't know this about me, I actually started my career in soccer, the other kind of football. Um. I've been to World Cups. I've covered a lot of US men's national team games. I've covered a lot of Major League soccer. Um. And so I had a really a cool, full full circle moment yesterday and I interviewed the nicest athlete that I have ever met, by a million miles. And he is the most famous athlete that I've ever interviewed, and it was Harry Kane. Wow. He is the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, which was the stadium that we were in. He's the captain of the English national team, which is insane. He is an incredibly gifted football players. He could toss the coin. I asked him all about it. I asked him if he was nervous, a big brainy fan, so um, I got to guys. He I blacked out, like I was so amped. I was way more excited than I was, like nervous to talk to Sam. And then as soon as I met him, he was so nice and like right when he got here, Andy Greg, my boss and producer that was in LA, was just like, are you ready to go in thirty seconds? If we get to you in thirty secs, like literally handsching, rache banetta, are you ready in thirty seconds? Yes, I'm ready. I'm ready to go. And so I'm kind of I'm like, Harry, we're gonna go live like literally right now? Is that okay with you? And He's just like, yeah, that's totally fine with me. Let's go, let's do this. And I was like okay, three two, And then they're like and we're going to commercial, right, Well, okay, yeah, we're you guys are gonna actually be there for a couple minutes. We're gonna go to a commercial break. If you can just entertain Harry came for a couple of minutes, that would be great. Oh my god. So I was just like, oh no, I'm not very good at tap dancing with people like I can tap dance when I'm just like talking to myself and like on a podcast, that's fine. But when it's with somebody who I am like yours cool, I have hard time being normal. So a couple of seconds in I was just like, so, Harry, I was actually at the last World Cup. I was in Russia, and he goes, oh, how did you like that? And I was like, well, I ended up in the hospital and I got like, oh my move because I ate too many hot bags. And I was like uh. I was like, that was information that you did not need it, you did not need, but now you have. And he was very nice and laughed about it. But I was just like, ah, you can't ask Ben edit a tap dance. She's gonna say weird things. Anyways, they came back from commercial and I got to interview him live on air, and this is what it sounded like. All right, this is a man that needs no introduction in this house. Harry Kane, you are here. What's it like to see your your home field transformed into NFL football? Yeah, it's crazy, to be honest. We were just talking about, you know, the pitch level was like five meters down or wherever it is, and it's just amazing to see it turned into an American stadium pretty much. So yeah, looking forward to the VAMA should be a good ball now. I know, a couple of years ago, we were here and you were here, and we asked you are you a football fan? You support any teams? You said, Patriots, and you specifically love our guys Tom Brady. Now as we know he's no longer there, are you still supporting the Patriots. I'm still a Patriots fan. I'm staying with him. I thought one eye on Tom. You know, I'm good friends, so, um, I want to see him do well. But yeah, I've got to stay with the Patriots, you know, I'm loyal to them now and hopefully we can turn it around. Yeah, you said, it's a it's a transition year. Everybody relaxed. It's a transition year. Okay, so you are doing the coin toss today, I was asking, or are you feeling any pressure? Have you been practicing? It's all on the wrists. How do you feel? Uh A little nervous. Yeah, a little bit different to what I'm used to, but uh yeah, I guess it's a flip. It up to you what happens, and someone's gonna be happy, someone's gonna be sad. You really can't mess it up. Thank you so much for your time, good luck at the World Cup, this winner and calling him back him So those are those are the highlights of the day. Besides the game. The game was also very fun, Like I was like, oh, the games around playing Linen are only link boring, but on this we gave you a treat, we gave you a snack. This game came down to the wire, the double doink. Oh what a bummer Viking take the win? Oh so crazy? Um okay, And then one more thing happened I was doing. They asked me to do an in game hit, which is another full circle moment because that is how that was. My first job was being the in arena like host for a Toronto FCA. I was up on the jumbo tronow it was like, you know, giving away T shirts and ice cream sandwiches, um. And so they asked me to do an in arena hit, which was really cool. There was thousands and thousands of people there, like sixty thousand. You couldn't even you can't It's so many people you can't even wrap your mind around it. So I was like, this isn't real. It's like, this is not real. I'm not talking to anybody, Nobody can hear me. This is gonna be great. So I wasn't even nervous. I roll up and then kept on saying like we we're gonna talk to you about what you're doing after the game. And what I was doing after the game is I was going to a Packers bar and this place is filled with Vikings fans. I was like, I don't think you guys should ask me what I'm doing after this game, and they're like, no, literally, we just wanted you to talk about going to a like a pub and like hanging out with London bands. And I was like, I want to say something dumb on the Serson Dome and so they're like, right, chill, what are you up to after the game, And I was like, I actually have to leave right now because I'm going to a packer bar. Like it was like, so when we actually have a clip of the reaction at tottam Hotspor sading to me telling everybody that I was leaving the Vikings game to go to a packers bar, listen to this. I want to so, guys, that was my Sunday. That was my Sunday filled with chaos. There were so many good games um after that that. I mean, the Chiefs as much as you want somebody else to be in the spotlight, jeeves a really Patrick Holmes is very fun play back, playing backyard football, Like he's just a blast to watch. What was that reaction? He just some of his like plays that he made in the red zone where whether it was like scrambling away from pressure that was like a sure sack and then like running around and running right up to the line of scrimmage and then just like tossing a little over the heading or this little he's got like a bowling. It's like he's bowling the football. I don't know what it is, but it's it's it's as if like he's the flash and everything just slows down and he can just like analyze where everyone is, what he needs to do, and he's like, easy, does it? Chiefs game was fun. The Packers Patriots game was fun. We're gonna talking about Bill Bellicheck in a second Lion Seahawks. I don't know, guys. There were ninety three points scored in that game. A lot of fun. It was messy, and it was like, I was kind of ridiculous, ridiculous, Like this game wasn't one that I was necessarily watching, but dry zone is going and he kept feeling like it was over and then you're like, wait, here comes the Lions. You still have a chance. You can get one stop on defense. They got a lot of fight. They got a lot of fight, and you can be like, oh, I played the Seahawks Roland Rachael, but oh that look on Dan Campbell's face when they lost. He looked like he was gonna cry on the sideline, and it broke my heart. I'm a big Lions guy, big Lions guy. Um what else happened? The Raiders finally got their first win. Packers Patriots game was so fun. Um, we're gonna be breaking down the best and the worst thing that I saw coming up around the corner. And there's some doozies and there, so don't go anywhere, bast Okay. The best thing that I saw this weekend was a the ted Lasso guys up in their booth, just like, can I tell you that I was there five minutes before that. I gotta get so sweet everybody, And it was a full creep. I was a full weirdo, you guys. I totally melt down in these situations. I'm not able to talk to famous people. So I just got my little I got my little snacks, and I just went and sat by myself. Oh it's okay. I was also brain dead and tired, so yeah, I'm gonna give myself that break. And they had some pretty sweet seats, and I wanted to watch the game. The game was fun. The game was actually really fun. I'm out of my mind. Can somebody, if you ever just see me, can you just come say hi to me? Because I'm probably being a loser by myself. Um, okay. The best thing that I saw was that there was two they were singing. They were having fun. I was there not talking to anybody. Was great. Uh And then I also saw a massive meltdown from Bill Belichick. That is two temper tantrums in a row. We had Ken Dorsey last week, we got Bill Belichick this week. I can't get enough of it. Nothing makes me that nothing makes me that angry. Nothing. Belichick's also like, got a third string quarterback playing the majority of the game. What are you getting mad? Just take a second to reflect on, Like, it's not every game has to go perfectly as planned. Yeah, as Harry Kane said, you know the revamping, this is a transition year, right, um. And then the this is not This is equally the best and the worst thing that I saw all week because they made me laugh a lot. Um. DK Metcalfe having to get like carded off, and I was like, oh God, like what happened? What happened? Um? And then he well he was getting carted off to use the bathroom. Um. By the way. And then DK tweeted after the game that clinchwalk wouldn't have made it so gnarly couldn't walk. But I love that he owns it at least at least he owns it, Like I feel like Lamar Jackson still like, oh I don't have to go and get links. Yeah, totally, like we all know what happened. We remember the infamous poop walk um And maybe he should have taken a page from from Micah Parson's book lesten to what he said last week that that stuff doesn't phaze me. Sickness and I could have stomach virus. I could be pooping my pants and I still want to play. That's dedication. That is that is dedication. You can either poop in your pants or you can take a little cart ride off any use the bathroom. I don't know what's better. Guys. That is our show. We have one more week left in London. We've got one more podcast. Oh yeah, you're going home today. I'm literally going to get on a plane right now. And you know what, good for you? Thanks. I hope you sleep the whole way home. I might good for you though. You get him a whole nother week of adventures. Guys. I'm actually loving London. I know I sound exhausted and like a dead person, and I am. I fully am almost crossed over to the other side. But I am having an absolute blast. We got packers giants this week. I can't believe the packers are rolling into town on Friday. I don't know how you do that turnaround. That sounds hard. That sounds hard. But also you've got to think the Saints were here all week and now they got to flip back and do the jet leg all over again going home, right. Um, okay, So we're gonna be previewing the games coming up this Friday, So come back for that. Leave us a five star review on Apple Podcasts.
