Belfast actor Ian McElhinney has been in Star Wars, but he’ll be best known as Granda Joe in Derry Girls, a show he believes has educated English audiences about Northern Ireland. He tells Maureen Coleman about the impact the show has had on him, what it was like to work on it and why he thinks it worked so well.
