Listening to SIENNA SPIRO’s breakout hit, “Die on This Hill,” feels a bit like going back in time. Her music is steeped in the sounds of the 60’s, with elements of jazz, soul, and pop. There’s something very old-school about her, right down to her aesthetic. With a voice that contains so much depth and texture, she carries a lifetime of emotion packed into every song she sings. For an artist who’s just burst onto the scene, it’s remarkable how big an impression she’s already made.

John Legend has always been ahead of the curve. He started playing piano at 4, graduated high school at 16. He grew up with a family surrounded by gospel music, and became a prodigy. After graduating from UPenn, he did what so many aspiring artists do - he hustled. Working a consulting job during the day, singing in clubs at night. Hoping to get someone to notice, to believe in him and to cut him a record deal. Funny to think about because it’s hard to imagine a world where John Legend isn’t a household name, but just goes to show that even the greats started somewhere.

His latest release CAOS, arrived after an 8 year break. Inside every song, you can hear an artist still experimenting, still pushing, and still reinventing himself.
