I first met Kenny Vance at one of the hardest times in his life.  It was a few months after Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and his house on the beach in the Rockaways of New York had been completely destroyed.  And yet even that couldn’t dampen his sweet spirit, his good humor and the joy he has gotten out of a life in music. Kenny grew up in Brooklyn hearing music in the neighborhood, in all of the neighborhoods.  That eventually led to him being a co-founder and original member of a very successful 1960’s vocal group, Jay and the Americans.  And now he’s bringing it all back home, directing a documentary about his beloved doo wop, a love letter to those forgotten by time, but not by Kenny Vance.
