The return of 4/20 at Hippie Hill and the normalization of cannabis culture

View descriptionShare

This year, the annual 4/20 celebration is back on at Golden Gate Park's "Hippie Hill,"  where cannabis smokers from far and wide come together on April 20th every year to honor the herb.

But after two years off due to the pandemic, the rules have changed and the event is more commercial than it's ever been. Event vendor Tajai Massey – co-founder of cannabis-based delivery service Calibaba and founding emcee of rap groups Souls of Mischief and Hieroglyphics – spoke with Mallory Somera to explore the normalization of weed.
